Psychiatrists would have you all committed except for the fact that most psychiatrists are Christians themselves.

Insane? Is this insane? Believing that a theory is a fact when all it's evidence points to more hypothesis. It takes a weak mind to be taken in by the clever words of the educated few who spin their agenda in such a way that the Theory of Evolution is believed to be fact by their disciples.

How is this so? The word "theory" is rarely used along with "evolution" and anyone under this scientific dogma will not even discuss any other theories, especially Intelligent Design (which was not an idea brought about by any "religious" sorts, but by scientists whose findings were inexplicable by any other theory).

I would say the bulk of what you believe is insane, as well.

By the way, most psychiatrists are not Christians. The bulk of what you believe really is insane.

To a purely rational person the bulk of what Atheists say is insane. There are more Christians then Atheists thank God. And more scientists believe in some form of higher power than none at all. Come back to reality, you're living in a fantasy world.

You know....scanning through the questions to see which ones I want to answer....there sure is an awful lot of Christian bashing in Yahoo.
I am a non believer, and I believe, fairly rational. That being said, the same way you think they're insane, they think you're insane. The only thing you might be able to prove, is that Adam and Eve were NOT the first people.
The same way the Christians CAN'T prove God exists, you can't prove that he DOESN'T.
And, until someone gets some proof, they will have faith, and we will not. I, however, would never label them "insane".

Of course Christianity is going to sound insane to a non-believer who is unable grasp the concept of faith in God. So naturally I wouldn't expect anything more than that post from a disrespectful Atheist. But, ironically you also help corroborate scripture in the Bible.

1 Corinthians 2:14 -- The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Proverbs 1:22 -- "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

Oh well, try to have a nice day anyway.

Could you possibly state your opinions in a well formatted manner without feeling the need to insult or show disrespect for other peoples beliefs or ways of living, does the word self or common respect have any meaning? I may not agree with others beliefs but I attempt to allow these individuals to come out on R&S telling what they believe with proper respect for each and everyone we should all attempt this once in a while, have a nice night.

Christians believe the teachings of Jesus, and he was eminently sane. As C. S. Lewis explains, Jesus was either telling the truth, insane, or the devil from hell. We can eliminate the latter two answers on the basis of the historical evidence.

But what about a person who believes that their intelligent, self-repairing, metabolizing, growing, self-reproducing body occurred as some chance event, from a mutation of some non-sentient species? That life began when a profoundly complex cell occurred as a result of a freakish combination of inanimate matter, perhaps jolted by a bolt of lightning? That we just happen to exist on a perfectly sized world, with the right kind of moon, at just the right distance from the sun, in just the right location in just the right type of spiral galaxy to allow for life? That somehow we became endowed with inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness out of the blue, in a universe of meaningless matter and energy? Sound entirely sane to you?

No, some people look at this world, at our families, at the difference between evil-doers and the good and KNOW that there has to be a purpose beside simple living and then just death.
If you look at Lee Strobel's site and others you will the see the odds of this creation falling into compatiblity by accident. The chances of DNA endlessly falling exactly into place to create the human body and have everything where it is suppose to be is fathomless.

I agree (from a purely rational perspective) that the bulk of what christians believe is irrational.

No.
I think the bulk of what secular progressives believe is insane.
That truth is relative, that more government equals more freedom, that there are no absolutes, that we should love everyone and not judge them no matter what they do (except if they are Christians or conservatives), that murder is okay as long as it's an unwanted "fetus", but not okay for those who actually deserve the death penalty, etc., etc., etc.

I will stop there, as that was too much irrationality in one paragraph for me.

I am a non-practising Christian, if that makes any sense what so ever...However I believe it the good intentions of what Christians in general believe..They believe in living a good and pure life and in helping others..They believe in honesty and love. To believe that is not insane. Yes they believe in God and they believe in the return of Christ, but if that belief leads them to live a life where they generally do good and mean well for others then really you should ask the question, "what is so insane about that"....
