I spoke with a recruiter and was told I'd need a 3.0 gpa in undergraduate school to go in as an officer (My GPA was a 2.88).... another recruiter told me I'd be able to get a waiver as my master's was a 3.5. I'm not sure who is correct... any advice?

I agree with the above poster. Since the Air Force is downsizing they are being extremely selective on who the are accepting to attend OTS. The possibility of you being selected is not only determined by your GPA. It is also determined by the major in which you earned your degree. I had a 3.3 GPA and majored in Food and Nutriton, however I was told that they were not accepting non-technical degrees at the time. You need to contact an officer recruiter to find out all the details regarding competitive GPA's as well as what degrees they are looking for. Your recruiter should have that information (I was given the contact information and contacted the officer recruiter myself). According to my recruiter, they are required to contact the officer recruiter anytime that they are enlisting someone with a degree. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

depends on what else you have to offer the Air Force in the way of Leadership experience and job experience. They are so overmannned right now that they are only taking the absolute cream of the crop.. so you would be competeing against people with 4.0 GPAs...undergrad and graduate degrees.
