We were gifted with this grill with no instruction booklet. Is there any way to take the grills off to wash? It seems that everything is molded in or bolted down. It took me over 20 minutes to clean it today.

You can't take the grills off but plug it up and make it really hot then turn it sideways facing the sink and clean it with a scrub brush (or thick towel) and soapy water. The heat helps the food dislodge faster.

I have a George Foreman grill, model No. GR30VTCAN. The cleaning instructions are: To avoid burns, unplug and allow to cool
Place drip tray under front and using special spatula, scrape off any excess fat and food particles.
Wipe with paper towels or sponge. (I sometimes soak a sponge in hot soapy water and wring it out over the grill and shut the lid and let it soak, if the build-up is difficult to loosen)
Never use abrasives

I found a phone number for customer relations...maybe you can give them a call and see if you can order a manual for your particular model. The number is 1-800-233-9054 or http://igrillwithgeorge.com/

If you need anything further, post another message. I'll be happy to share any information from my manual!
If you don't have the special spatula that comes with the grill, just use something plastic to scrape...like the one that you get through Pampered Chef, or use the plastic handle on a regular spatula....and if you don't have the drip tray, just put some little thing under the front of the grill to catch the water, etc., as you clean.

If you can't very easily take the grill off - then it isn't meant to come off. We happen to have three of the Forman grills and on one the grill comes off. But...good news....I find it really easy to clean the grills that don't come off. After you're done cooking let the grill cool for about 5 minutes (be sure to unplug it). Wet some paper towels and place on the grill and shut the cover. Let it sit while you eat and clean up - lift the lid and take clean paper towels and just wipe it clean. Works great - secret is don't let the grill just sit after using - the "remnants" just bake on making it hard to get off. Good luck and I'm sure you'll like it better now!

They sell special sponges to clean it. They are a HUGE hassle. Yesterday i got a grill pan that goes directly on the stove and you clean in the sink easily. Goerge forman grills are highly over rated.

Clorox or Method kitchen wipes, my dear. They help a *lot*.
