Hi Daphne,
I've never heard of a person saying they have a swollen gallbladder. Is that something your doctor told you?
You need an X-ray and an Ultrasound to see if it is enlarged & if you have gallstones.
If you do have gallstones, you will be prone to having gallbladder attacks. These attacks usually hurt in the back & are excruciatingly painful. The attacks usually last 5 - 6 hours and then calm down until the next attack.
You need to see your doctor. If these attacks are very frequent, the doctor may suggest it is time to remove the gallbladder. It can be done laparoscopically, which is very easy to do, & requires very little recovery time.
As I said, call your doctor. At the very least, he/she should prescribe a medicine to help you with the pain, until the problem can be fixed.

Well if your gallbladder is swollen you need to see a doctor pronto, you more than likely have gall stones which are very very unpleasant and cause great pain ( I went through it ) For quick pain relief take a few ibuprofen like 600 mg so 3 200mg tablets and get to the doctor or go to your emergency asap. The problem with gallbladder pains is they don't go away on their own, chances are if you have them your going to continue getting them more and more frequently and attacks can literally bring you to your knees. Getting your gallbladder removed is not a big ordeal it's really quite simple and the discomfort afterwards is less than a irritated gallbladder. Also try having a hot bath to ease the pain while the ibuprofen kicks in or put a hot wet towel across the area.

There is no way for you to tell whether or not your gallbladder is swollen. Pain in that area can come from a number of causes. And even if you were right, there is no medicine or herb that can correct the situation. Go to your physician for a proper evaluation and any necessary treatment.

Freely drink hot Chamomile Tea with honey to help relax and relieve some of the pain. For three days only eat fruit, so your gallbladder has a chance to rest from processing food.
When you start back eating it has to be a low fat diet. You cannot eat fatty foods, spicy foods, or junk food. Take a digestive enzymes capsule every time you eat to assist the gallbladder.
See your medical doctor as soon as possible.
