Evolution doesn't have goals. It's simply what we call the process by which all living things adapt to their environment.

Beauty is subject to the influence of fashion. In a time when only the rich and powerful ate well, grossly fat women were highly prized.
Look at the ancient Egyptians, whose standards of beauty seem very similar to ours. Queen Nefertiti would be considered pretty hot today.
Evolution is having less and less influence on us, as we become able to keep alive people who would never have made it even a century ago. Life expectancy rarely rose above 40-something in all of recorded history before now.
I would have died at least three times before now were it not for medical science.

Note that one piece of hugely successful selection humans have performed on themselves is on female breast size. They're waay bigger than they need to be, just because boys like 'em.

I personally believe that god works through evolution... I also believe that we are working TOWARD an image of god. So therefore, we are more in his image than Adam and Eve.

Evolution is random. If more beautiful people are born, it's just chance. Breeding for beauty would be more in line with human gene manipulation.

Evolution isn't about "better". It is about who gets to reproduce. Beauty is canceled by beer. The truth is that we are in a period of low selective pressure and population growth, so genetic drift will carry as much force as selection on specific traits.

it depends on how you choose to define "beautiful". Adam and Eve, by the way, are meatphors representing the general nature of the human race.

Well that isn't what evolution is. But we likely are just because the better you look, the greater the chance that you pass it on.
