I dislike him for saying that no matter what people would "love" him...kind of cocky in my opinion. However, as a member of PETA, I can honestly say I am glad he pleaded guilty, and at least he admits his wrong. About a week ago, while walking home from school, I saw a guy walking his dog(a pitbull) by my house, from afar, the dog looked so cute, he had a little chubby face and litte chubby legs, he was so cute. As I walked closer, I realized this dog had no ears, when I saw that it honestly made my heart drop. I mean how can people be so cruel? I dont understand how there can be people who could care less about animals and their feelings...its so sad really...well I hope Micheal Vick gets what he deserves...

Race clearly has nothing to do with it. Mr Vick, a black man, made rich by the sports industry, was having dogs fight eachother in a latter-day gladitorial arena. For this, he is going to jail. Conversely, a certain Mr King, also a black man who owes his fortune to sports, has men fight eachother in a latter-day gladitorial arena, and walks free.
Clearly, the discrimination going on here concerns dogs vs human beings, since the species of the fighters is the only difference between the two cases.

I earnestly hold out some hope for him to redeem himself. Not only because I would like to see if he does it but also because redeeming himself would also be redeeming in itself. It would nice to show people that even though you may be the greatest and fall on hard times and make foolish mistakes you can still make a contribution to society that is just as great.
I believe the media coverage was more toward the NAACP who was making it a race issue because they represent black people only. Thats how they make everything they talk about a race issue. Vick didn't do that though and maybe didn't even want NAACP to say anything on his behalf for all I know. That would be very commendable of him to do if he did ask them to not 'intervene'.

I think the majority of the people didn't care one bit about the color of the man's skin who not only broke the law and lied regarding his involvement in dogfighting but who was involved in the hanging, drowning and electrocuting of dogs...For me personally, I didn't care what the color of his skin was, I would have reacted the same way if the man was white, yellow, pink or green....I was so filled with anger the only color I saw was red. The ones who tried to play the race card just didn't get it....It was in the way these dogs were killed...no by whom....and THAT is why the country reacted as they did....nothing to do with race.

Its likely the state of Virginia will also try the case, so its not over for him he may still rack up quite a few more years. I also hope he actually sees what he has done was depraved and wrong.
As for the race card, I heard some supporters say his race was used against him but I didn't hear him use it.

Pete Rose got banned for life and lost a chance to be in the hall of fame. Vick so far is suspended 'indefinitely' which leaves the door open. I think they need to just kick him out of the NFL and be done with it.

Oh yea it was decspicable what he did and he was the face of the NFL at one time. But he admitted he was wrong and I think us Americans should give him a second chance at his life people can always turn things around. Even though it was a horrible thing to do we have to forgive and forget it in the past now.

Dogfighting in the US is just one step below child molesting. He would have been crazy to play the race card.
But lots people who care about race, one way or the other, couldn't help but notice that Vicks is black.

he silently did play the race card... wasn't good old Al Sharpton trying to get him off the hook and back into the game?
Surely Sharpton didn't do that out of the goodness of his heart LOL
