i pay my taxes, i just got this notice today stating that the are freezing my account on the 23rd. hello its the 28th i havent needed to go into my bank in a week or so so i didnt know it was even frozen, its after hours so i cant get ahold of anyone to find out what the deal is it says i owe $200, it would be nice if I owed $200 to actually get a bill i have no problem paying it.

seriously WTF how can this be legal. no notice at all just a court order over $200 haha this is insane luckily for credit cards i can actually get some food tonight till i get this resolved tomorrow.

unreal, has this happend to anyone?

alright i just got off the phone with them and they said i have an unpaid ticket of $250 ( which i have proof i paid) so it will get taken care off. The letter they sent i actually cut a check a mailed it . GOV offices i use to work for one they are not the brightest

It's very possible that they sent you a notice, but it never got to you for one reason or another. Unfortunately they can freeze your account if they don't get any response from you, even if you never got anything to respond back to.

And the answerer before me is a scam.

They don't just freeze your account without trying to get in touch with you. You have either been ignoring their letters or you do not have your correct address on file with them.

If you have moved since you filed your last tax return, you should have notified both the IRS and FTB of your change of address. You should also file a change of address with the post office so that your mail will be forwarded.

Not a lot you can do out-of-hours. Call the FTB in the morning and find out what is going on.
