There are products on the market, that specifically state,
are for prolonging one's hair color, which was done by
tinting, or dying it. I use Redken's Color Extend Shampoo, which truly DOES help extend the color of your hair. You can purchase this product from many sources - such as: Professional Salons, Warehouses, and even some Department Stores, depending where you live. Also, you should always try to condition your hair, once a week, with a rich conditioner, to help prevent split ends and drying out of your hair. Hope this info. helps you. Pls. feel free to email me or IM me anytime. My IM is singsalot51. Take care and hope to hear from you, as to your finding this product, ok?

1) Get a shower head w/ a filter to remove chlorine from the water. (available @ Bed, Bath & Beyond online)

2) Use a gentle shampoo designed for color treated hair.

3) Shampoo as little as possible.

4) Wear a hat or a leave in conditioner w/ UVA/UVB protection.

5) I've heard that shampooing & rinsing w/ cool water is better than w/ warm water. Warm water opens the hairs' cuticles & loosens the dye.

first and foremost, COLD WATER. Also, limit the amount of water you use on your hair (in other words, don't spend 15 minutes with head under shower faucet) also, use a salon shampoo made for color treated hair. You can also go and buy a conditioner made for blonde/red/brunette hair to help keep the color vibrant. Don't blow dry every day, if you do, keep it cool and far away from your scalp. That will also fade out color. Stay out of the sun a lot, and don't swim a ton.

Use shampoos and conditioners specially formulated for your hair color. Many of them contain color pigments that are the same as the ones you have in your hair to keep the color from fading. Also, I suggest you protect your hair by using a spray on sunscreen for your hair. Sun fades hair color. So does pool water. Make sure you protect your hair from the elements and try not to strip your hair with harsh shampoos and keep it moisturized, and your color should last its maximum amount of time.

Besides using any color extending shampoo and conditioner try using John Frieda-Luminous Color Glaze( it has pigments in it). It will help keep your color vibrant and extend the life of it. I use it because i dye my hair red all the time and its hard to keep the color in my hair without it. and also it helps add a nice shine to your hair. It's easy too, just use it every time you shampoo your hair.

for my area, i'd recommend not attempting to technique your hair anymore with the aid of your self and going to a professional. At this factor your hair is in all probability over-processed and broken so seek for a professional to assist rectify this earlier intense harm happens on your hair or there in basic terms is not any fixing it as you will the two would desire to enable it strengthen out some or cut back it. good success.

don't wash your hair the next day, and get a color locking shampoo, i got some when my hair was pink. And try not washing your hair every single day (i know, gross, but it will help the color stay longer)

good luck!!!

Buy one of John Freida's shampoos that help maintain your color and help it make it look even better. Make sure you buy the one that is for the color that you dyed your hair.
