A 5 year old McAllen girl is safe tonight after being kidnapped early this morning, through a bedroom window.
Luckily, the girl's mom caught Jorge Alberto Escobar in the act. Family members tackled Escobar and he was arrested by police down the street.
The girl was not harmed.
The kidnapping happened shortly after midnight on the 600 block of Kennedy Avenue, in south McAllen.
Family members were unavailable for comment. But, neigbors say they are relieved that the intruder has been arrested.
"Oh. well yeah. We don't need any pervert, around here," said Jerry Harris. "And that's pretty brazen to go into someone's window and grab ahold of them like that."
Turns out Escobar is someone the family knows. Escobar is an illegal immigrant who was living in an adjoining room and who worked with the victim's father.
He's charged with aggravated kidnapping and his bond is set at half a million dollars.

Their defense will be that they only kidnapped the child because they only wanted to make a better life for themselves. That's their defense for why it's OK for them to be in the country illegally.

People who are for the illegal aliens just don’t get it. It’s not racism, to want to know who’s in our country. Of course this scumbag could have been anyone.
But we do know this scumbag didn’t have any respect for our immigration laws, or our employment laws, so why would anyone expect that he would respect ANY law.
What does anybody know about him, nothing. We didn’t even get a chance to weed him out. He made have had a spotless record in Mexico, or Peru, or wherever he came from, I doubt it, but we didn’t get a chance to check him out.
I don’t know where he came from and I don’t care. But, we do know he broke at least two laws. Why does anyone expect someone who had committed a felony and continues to commit felonies, to suddenly start following our laws? Can you answer me that?
Now the family isn’t blameless either. They committed a felony by having him work for them. And another by having him live with them, (if I read the story right). When you deal with felons, that is what an illegal alien is, and you commit a felony, what make you think it going to end in a good way?
We should just treat the illegal aliens here just like Mexico does.

What does it matter if he was illegal or not? Are you saying if he would have been a full blooded white American that you would then not have an issue with it?
Why don't you just be thankful that a creep has been caught and a little girl is home.
How about this....What would you say if the immigrant kidnapped the child of another illegal immigrant is it ok then?

Why is the immigration status relevant at all?
The person kidnapped a child. That's a felony.
Whether they had failed to fill out immigration paperwork, or were driving on an expired license, or were out after curfew -- those are entirely unrelated and irrelevant separate issues.
