whatever belief you hold , whatever culture you are from , whatever family name you have, whether you are black or white etc ... you cannot tell me that there has been nothing bad done in the name of that
do we call you a murderer for what has gone on before , or what someone has done in your name ?
can you imagine how that must feel ?
yet this woman sits every night in here trying to show a different side to her religion and it falls on many deaf ears after they word Islam
if it was me , I know I would be crying each time
please try to start seeing the person , not the label

I have a couple of friends from Lebanon and one who is Iranian. I have to say both are secular in their beliefs, and my Iranian friend and his entire family got our just before the fall of the Shah, when the lunatics took over. There are many many, Arabic people in the world who are being horribly misjudged simply because of where they were born or where their roots are.
I do have a problem with anyone who is a fundamentalist, or who insists that their religion is the only one and tries to impose those beliefs on the free society I am fortunate enough to live in.
Frankly some of the things our Great Leader GW Bush has done are just as immoral and reprehensible as some other religious fanatics have perpetrated. But that does not mean that all Americans are like that, or agree with him.
Generalization and group mentality is the bane of peace.
We are all individuals, and its time more of us realized that fact, and quit acting like an angry mob.

Hi there, Pangel. The oddest thing is I'm a Atheist and you I believe are a spiritualist? Is that right. Our thoughts tend to run too close for comfort on several subjects. This one included.
It isn't easy to strip away all the rot the world has piled on us. The person beneath is buried deep under our so-called "betters" so-called "guidance". Sometimes it's just too deep. Sorry, Pangel, but I'm also a wee bit cynical and doubt many have the strength to overcome themselves and loose the shackles that society has got us by: Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and... Atheism as well.
But it's worth a try!

See here is the thing. Islam has a huge problem with their radical fundies. I can't help that. Hamas can draw hundreds of thousands to their rallies, while the peace rallies get a few hundred.
Those of us in the west can't stop them from starting a huge war, and that is exactly what they wish to do. Go look at their websites. They flat out say it. It is not possible to stop a war if one side wants it.
The only ones who can stop it are the moderate ones, and they seem to want to spend their time denying that there is a problem. That is much less than useful. In fact it convinces many in the west that this issue is not real and gets them to not prepare or do anything to mitigate the problem. There is going to be a big war over this if we all just let it go. I realize that means that some good people get caught up in the words, but that is better than the alternative.

Pangel, She is a dear friend to me as well but honestly she is taking this too seriously. I think both of you need to relax, the world out there is not the safest, a sad fact indeed but not all people are narrow-minded. When i first came here, i saw a tough time myself, i still see it but i try my best not to judge others. Thats the best i can do. I cannot control others therefore i grew a thicker skin!

You say to not bring down other religions but that is "Exactly" what your friend is doing.
She whitewashes or ignores the Evil things that are done in the name of her religion. Most of her questions are biased with an agenda. If an answer refutes what she has to say, she gets her panties all bunched up and cries "o poor little me"
If anyone can't stand the heat in the kitchen, they should at least take a break until their level of maturity can handle it.

I don't think all Muslims are terrorists or want to kill non muslims.
I do not like the Muslim faith or agree with much of what it stands for, but I reserve that right as a citizen of a free country.

i read your link and i answered her question.
it's very sad that this happens, but you know as well as i do that is just stupid people trying to cause as much trouble as possible.
there is a very good chance that whoever it is isn't of any religion but trollism.
i can't imagine how much this must hurt. all we can do is try to be as thoughtful in our own answers as possible.
as i told her you cannot reason with close minded people, and if you look at your answers you will see who the tolerant ones are.
o.k. i'm starting to get preachy and we don't want that.
(((pangel))) bright blessings to you

Yeah I feel bad for her.I'm Pagan but I have several Muslim friends who've had to put up with similar stuff in real life from ignorant morons.
It's so sad-these idiots need to learn that most Muslims aren't terrorists.

There's really something to be said for having thick emotional skin. If it gets to you everytime some imbecile starts giving a voice to his ignorance, you aren't gonna last very long.
