Okay, maybe it was support hose, I'm not sure of the terminology...the discription sounded like pantyhose...just wanted to know if it were true, but thanks!

As a previous server the place I worked at MADE us where nylons for health reasons! It is not required anymore. And as a bartender, they do have the mats that help out with the stress of the feet. However these mats when it gets busy and all and your cleaning glasses and such they slip around. And the your feet slip as well on them. I do know that nylons or support hose however you want to address it does help, it somewhat energizes your legs..Although they are not required. My place of bartending did not let us where them for whatever reason, they had none actually. If you wear pants I would say go for it and try it out...Just make sure they are not to tight, for they can cut the circulation as well...If you wear pants, who would know you have nylons on? It is up to you! This is not just for batenders, anyone that is on their feet all day for 6-8 hours, will really love to wear the nylons..I did as a server, hec it made the legs look hot as well :] and they were comfortable.

Somebody is trying to pull the "pantyhose" over your head. This is unheard of.... most bars provide rubber mats behind the bar, that are designed to eleviate stress of standing for a 6-8 hours shift. Only bartenders that may wear panty hose would be female ones....

It does really help. Support hose are sort of like anti-embollism tights after surgery to prevent blood clots. I'd wear those tights under pants all the time because my legs actually felt good after work. If you're a guy, you can decide for yourself.

I bartended for many years, and I did wear support hose. They did seem to help. There were many long busy nights, and comparing support hose to regular ones or none, you will notice a huge difference.
