I heard something about it.
I've never used one before, and I'm probably not going to.
But my friend wants me to ask this for her. (she doesn't have a yahoo account.)

Huh? If you don't want a Ouija board, throw it out, destroy it, give it to someone you don't like, give it to someone you do like. Doesn't matter.

It's just a board with some stuff on it, and a planchette.

It's just a tool, like a hammer, or an axe. Without a person using it, it's nothing. When someone uses one, then there is a possibility of a problem, just like with a hammer, or an axe.

I'll answer this from a purely Biblical standpoint (just to be upfront). There is no power or spiritual authority in the ouija board itself but rather in the demonic (evil) spirits they invite. The deception is that destroying the board may "release these spirits" or on the opposite side rids your life of these spirits. Nothing could be farther from the truth (both ways). Rather, by messing with these boards you are inviting these demons into your MIND (that's where they want to be - to influence your thought life). In the end, they want to destroy you (even in a subtle way) as people who have come out of the occult will personally testify (I know of people personally). The board is simply a medium for these spirits to infect you. I know that sounds dogmatic, but that's the truth.

When something has bad magic on it, the best way to get rid of it is to burn it or bury it. Burn it if you won't be putting nasty chemicals into the air in the process; otherwise bury it.

Ouija boards are dangerous because they can call up demons (bad spirits, however defined) without the person using the board knowing anything about demonology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, any of that. Never call up an entity you don't know how to banish.

Any "cheap" spirit contact is dangerous, because it is effective even in the hands of a novice, and the novice is unprepared for the results. I wouldn't even recommend Tarot cards if you're just going to play around, and not take them seriously.

If you want to learn about the subject without having to sort through a lot of anonymous answers by strangers, about whom you know nothing, including whether they know anything, there's a way to learn.

The reading list below can act as a source for you. Most of the titles can be found in your local library. If they don't have them they can borrow them from another library.

They are first of all not toys.
In the wrong hands they are pretty damnaging. Weather is th subMind at work or really spirits those things can call up things out your self. I'd say brake in half before throwing it away. Clean your house with buring sage.

No, that's not true, go ahead and throw it away. Whoever told your friend that is just playing with her mind.

Any thing that is not of God should be destroyed. That includes ouija boards.

They don't even work in the first place so you may as well throw it out.

I'm a weird Pagan. I don't believe they work.
I have heard you should cleanse it, but I don't remember how.
