God wants a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU - separately from anyone else! No priests, no Mary, no statues or beads - JUST YOU AND HIM!

When you pray to God the Father through Jesus the Son, YOU ARE IN GOD'S DIRECT PRESENCE JUST LIKE HIS ANGELS!

THAT'S WHAT HE WANTS!

Mat 23:9 And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

GBY!

No easy answer, as when it boils down to it, faith IS a personal choice. Deciding you don't believe in a particular faith can be fairly easy, but deciding on another can be downright frustrating due to the conflicting advice you get

(For the following pointer include Atheism as a "Faith")

Try seeing what faiths there are out there. Each one has it's own take on life, and may have some answers that are meaningful to you.See what they say about faith/religion/life in general. If you feel able include a Catholic priest in your research (I think your problem falls within their "job" description). Even if you chose not to accept their faith, you'll have gained more understanding about how others see the world, which might help you...

I know someone who was brought up as a Catholic who was troubled because he had lost his faith. After "talking" religion with him, and explaining that (many) pagans look upon the Goddess in much the same way as Catholics seem to look upon Mary, he looked into Goddess worship, and he found his (Catholic) faith again. He'll even take part in celebratory pagan rituals (much like harvest festivals), and after we've do a pagan "verse" he'll do a quick translation of our words praising the Goddess, into one praising God/Mary. Sound funny, but it really works well, and everyone gets something a little extra out the ritual.

Remember to be honest with Deity, you also have to honest to yourself. Only make a decision when you're happy with it, until then go with what works for you.

While it's by no means exhaustive, nor necessarily definitive, this might help

pub why bother going to a church if you dont believe find out about what the different sects believe or just say i'm agnostic and stuff it all join the humanist sociaty of something or better yet start your own religion atleast you could make a little money on the side then
but seriously why replace one set of dogmatic rules for another and you may yet find you just lapsed and want to rejoin use this time to look at others faiths in an unbiased way and decide what you want later some decissions are harder to change than others

That is a search that only you can decide. I was also raised Catholic and when I started to question things I was told it is not my place to question GODS WILL. Well I left because I couldn't accept that. I searched others as well but most of them gave me the same type of answer. I should follow my religious leaders blindly and trust that they are speaking for God. The belief that I am in now has no leaders and my connection to the divine is my own. I don't rely on others to tell me how I should live or believe. Good luck with your search and remember to question.

Only you can answer that, you get alot of people here pressuring you to do what they want, ie keep believing in god etc. But you need to follow your heart. I was once catholic but I too found that xtianity wasn't for me, I felt asthough I was being suffocated. I even tried church of england but there is no difference really. Don't think about religion for a while, give yourself a break. If you are meant to follow a spiritual path it will present itself to you.
I wish you the best of luck in whatever your path is.

Question everything. Read and study all religions and faiths. Your heart will guide you in the right direction. I was raised Catholic but I knew that it wasnt for me. I didnt believe what I was told to believe. I found another way. What is right and true to me. Many Blessings in your journey!

You might be more comfortable in the Episcopal or Lutheran faiths as they have many of the familiar trappings of the Catholic faith. But I suggest a clean break. Look for a church that believes the Bible is the Word of God and the preaching is faithful to the Bible.

Well what i suggest you do is to study study the bible. Then investigate religions and find the one that is the most accurate with what you have studied. Or you can so the other way around study religions and if in doubt about anything ask questions and look it up in the bible, thats your main source of truth and no one, and i mean no one can alter the truth!!!

God Bless!!

take time to study and meet others, find where you fit and what you believe in. I was always under the belief that all religions boil down to the same thing: love, respect and trust. Its about how you express and grow from it that defines which religion you are from, and the careful balance of how you celebrate life and love with others that makes the difference.
