First, your male does not go into 'heat'. I would discuss neutering the pup with my Vet and go with the time schedule the Vet suggests. I prefer to see the pup be 4 months of age or a little older but after 4 months, anytime to do it is good and the sooner the better. Neutering your male makes him a better pet in the long run. He will not be so prone to trying to take off due to a female in season in the area (males can detect a female in season up to 2 miles away). He will not be likely to get several cancers; prostate and testicular. Male dogs have a tendency to bond tighter to their owners than females. They just seem to be a bit more needy of the attention. Females usually are just a tad more independent of us.

He won't go into heat. He is a male. Male dogs don't have seasons/heats.
Only females.
You should get him fixed around 5-6 months old. Follow the advice of the vet.

Generally, most vets will neuter dogs around 5 or 6 mos.

Male dogs don't come in heat, they are always ready to breed . I would have him neutered at 6 months old.
