I have to concur with the majority here. I too use the plastic grocery bags but I often buy the litter in the large white containers and use it as the 'dump container'. The lids fit securely and the smell is contained. It has a nice handle to take it to the trash can.....just my way of doing it. And since I buy more litter in the same size container every month I can either recycle the pail or just dump the container in the garbage can. Usually I reuse it. BTW, I don't know who had the suggestion of the cake deodorant at the bottom but that's a great idea! I've used baking soda and other types of odor stuff - but that's not a bad idea - must try it!! Any container with a securely fitting lid will work - take the grocery bag and tie it up tightly once you've filled it and then toss it into whatever bin you've decided to use and tada! You've got it taken care of! Wish there was a better recycling way to take care of the litter though - at least in the city.

I typically scoop every few days into a plastic grocery bag, tie it up and toss it in the normal trash. The plastic seals in the odor and I feel like I'm reusing something. I wouldn't dump directly into a mini-garbage pail because you'll get litter bits sticking to the side that don't dump out. Yuck. If you line the garbage pail with mini trash bags or grocery bags, I think that's a great solution.
Have a good time with your cat.

I scoop mine into a plastic grocery bag and tie it in a knot then throw the bag in the trash can outside. This has worked out just fine for me for the past 6 years.

We use scoop away and every day I scoop out the clumps twice and put them in a little baggie....(I get them cheap at Sam's Club) ZIP it up and throw it away. No smelll......some say it is a waste of a little baggie, but we hate having it in the garbage.
