There is no such thing as a gay Christian
You cannot deliberately do what God says is wrong and be a Christian
You CAN be gay and attend church, but that does not make a person a Christian just by attending
1st Corinthians 6: 9-10

The Metropolitan Churches are gay oriented. There are many liberal churches that believe homosexuality is not a sin - among these are the Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and some United Methodist.
I would hope that any person would be welcome at any church. However, among the more conservative churches and pastor you will find two possibilities:
1. They will accept and welcome you as a Christian brother/sister, but will stay by their interpretation of the scripture.
2. You might find that some would welcome you with the intent of trying to change you.
I would be with the first. I have studied and read the passages of scripture that speak of homosexuality. I have studied both sides of the issues and interpretations. I personally believe that homosexual sex is a sin. My struggle is how to say this in a way that is honest with my personal understanding while recognizing the personal struggle and worthiness of those who are gay.
I don't know if you consider this with "a pinch of salt". I have found that many consider all who don't affirm homosexuality to be homophobes. I guess the guestion is if you want to be accepted for who you are, can you accept where I am at?

I have never been gay but, I changed almost everything about myself when I joined a church.
When Jesus stopped a crowd from stoning a women to death for being a prostitute, by saying " let him who is without sin cast the first stone", no one could throw a stone.
You may be asked to cast off the old you.
I can testify that being who I am now is so much better, words can not make it clear.

Biblically no. In first 1 Corinthians 5 a gay person would be put out of the church.
1 Cor: 11 "I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

well I'm a Christian, as is my husband and our daughter, we welcome gays, my daughter's godfather is gay. One would hope that the church would welcome gay Christians, since so many of them are vicars, If Jesus were among us, he would sit down and break bread with gays, like he did with tax collectors and prostitutes. Surely being Christian is about not judging people and accepting and loving them for who they are.

Yes they are. So are the drunkards, childmolesters, drug addicts, murderers, thieves, and anyone else that wants and desires a relationship with the Living Lord and Savior. A relationship with Him will give us a desire to change.

If Jesus really did exist, I'm sure he'd love you no matter which sex you prefer to sleep with. Apart from that, who gives a **** what Paul or the Corinthians or any other HUMAN church thinks?
