Hi there.

If a 19 year old female Jamaican overstayed their visa permit by around 3 years in the UK, got caught and sent (NOT deported) back to Jamaica, what is the chance they could get a visa to study in America.

The overstay wasent all this persons fault as they were underage for some of it. Got decent grades in college/high school with very good recomendations etc.

Thanks ells

Talk with someone from the American Consulate
and ask them to help her.

The same as if she had never left Jamaica. It doesn't really matter than she was in a different country already. I knew a guy from Mexico who was deported for selling drugs in California. He got a visa to go to Holland without problems.

They sent her home but didn't call it a deportation (because she was a minor for part of it?)

I would think she wouldn't have a problem.
