The Bible is not myth.
If you compare the Bible against any ancient book if mythology there is a big difference...
The Old Testament contains well over 2,000 predictive prophecies, which are very specific and detailed. One of the main reasons the Bible contains so many prophecies is so that in their fulfillment, the divine origin of the Scriptures may be established.
Lunatics, crack heads, or dillusional self proclaimed prophets are unable to accurately predict the future; this is something which can only be accomplished by the omniscience of God. Prophecy is not mere guessing or conjecture; rather, prophecy is the prediction of future events with absolute accuracy. To be wrong in any way or detail nullifies the value of the prophecy.
The standard for prophecy in the Bible is 100 percent accuracy and so far it's predictions have been 100 percent accurate.
The Bible is historically and archaeologically accurate, it speaks about real people, places and events and dates within an historical framework which archaeology and non-biblical secular sources often confirm. To say that it is myth is to assert something that simply is not true. It is a false premise to begin with.
It is not a myth that Jesus lived, nor is it a myth that Paul the apostle and the other apostles lived. It is not a myth that Abraham lived, or Moses, or David, or Solomon, it is not a myth that Kings, cities and civilizations rose and fell as was predicted hundreds of years earlier.
The Bible speaks of Jerusalem, Egypt, Assyrian, the Jordan River, Bethlehem, the Nile River, the Euphrates River, pharaohs, Kings, and so many other things that have been verified through history.
While mythical stories CAN include actual places, this is not the case with the Bible. It teaches and assumes factual people, events, and places.
The New Testament especially reads nothing like myth at all, but like recorded history. Its style is written as a history book, of those who have actually seen what has happened, of those who have been there. In fact, if we use the rules of textual criticism consistently across all ancient documents, we find the Bible to be some of the most reliable historical documents of antiquity.
More importantly, it is evident that the authors of the Bible intended for the readers to take them literally. Luke begins his gospel by explicitly stating, that he has carefully investigated the accounts of Jesus from the eyewitnesses and he seeks to write out "the exact truth about the things you have been taught." To claim that this was intended as a parable or myth is wholly without merit.
There were plenty of people around who would have refuted what the apostles had written if what they wrote was inaccurate, Yet we find no evidence of any such rebuttal in any historical writings Or records of the time.
The Roman and Jewish authorities would also have been only too happy to produce evidence to refute what the Apostles were teaching about Jesus if they Could have, but they couldn't because the Apostles were telling The Truth.
The authorities couldn't even manufacture false evidence
Against Jesus because there were too many witnesses to what Really happened.
But , if people today want to claim that the Bible is myth, then let them prove it.
They would be hard-pressed to establish that the Bible and the stories in it are nothing more than fabrications.
When it comes time for the critics to back up his claim that the Bible is nothing but myth, they often crumble in their arguments since they have no truth in their statements.
Finally, usually those who deny the authenticity of the Bible also deny that miracles are possible. When someone says that miracles cannot happen, that is why the Bible is myth, it's because they can't accept that miracles are real and since the Bible has them, then it must be myth to them.
But that just begs the question. To assume miracles cannot happen and then to subject the Bible to their assumption is merely to not prove anything. It means the person assumes to be true what he is trying to prove.

Well, the bible is a book written by many seperate authors, who not only wrote about "Miraculas things" happening, but books of prayer poetry that contain no actual stories. Also a lot of parables which are stories told by the elder for knowlege of wisdom. Are there a lot of unexplained events in the bible? Yes. But there is a lot of accuracy behind the authors. It truly is a matter of faith that it is all based off of, its up to you to decide. Even if you don't believe in it or its not true, the Bible contains a ton of information that can lead one to the knowlege of wisdom and salvation for yourself.

I think it was written/passed down to guide, enlightened, and to give the Hebrews hope during a terrible time in their history.
We may not understand the reasoning 2000 years later....but there was a reason.

There are plenty of myths, unfortunately, there are also a lot of historical facts (ex: Jesus really existed, we have old roman reports of him stating he preached without permission and caused illegal gatherings)
It would have been much better if they made different books for myths and history. You know, like history books and philosophical books... The Egyptians and Mesopotamians did, why couldn't they?

What is unique about the Judeo-Christian mythology is the mythologists mixed mythology with some real history. This makes it appear more authentic. They deserve some credit for that idea.
