Why is Islam the only major religion with an anti-"negative PR" campaign?

That depends on what you consider a "major religion". If you include all faiths that have, say, more than a million members, then a lot of religions have some form of anti-negative public relations efforts.

Some of them Include:

Jews
Catholics
LDS
Jehovah's Witnesses
The Potter's House (and associated ministries)
The Way
and many more.

It just happens that Islam is having to make a more concerted effort at the moment. Some of there members think they have the right to harm others in the name of Allah, and it is meet that someone should point out the Koran does not support this position.

I think all those good southern baptist that sent our beautiful young kids to Iraq to die horrible deaths should get themselves a good anti-negative PR campaign. Because the world pretty much sees them as immoral, violent, unstable hypocrites.

Let's face it, Bush campain used organized religon to get into office, he used his office to invade Iraq to gain control of oil resources. The Bush family and his administration ARE all oil interests. Bush increases his wealth at the expense of the lives of innocents. Ergo, churchies have murdered lots and lots of people. I have a serious problem with them.

In the media atmosphere of today, failing to employ your own "spin department" leaves you defenseless.

Christians against homosexuality?
Christians against allowing a woman to rule her life?
Christians against being decent people and allowing their governments to commit all kinds of direct and indirect atrocities?

I am no fan of Islam, by far, but should they run a "America, please continue to support autocratic and despotic regimes. They make us feel all fuzzy inside" campaign?

Kinda like the Jewish "Anti-Defamation League", which sues anyone they think has an anti-Jewish THOUGHT go fleeting through their heads, and keeps blacklists of groups that THEY THINK are anti-Jewish, whether they are or not?
