A friend tagged me in Facebook as the one of his contacts that would be most likely to.. 'Be a trophy wife'.. What does that mean?

"trophy wife" usually refers to much younger second wives taken by rich older men. It's a cynical term implying that the woman is in the relationship for the money and the man wants the woman because he wants to show that he can get a young, beautiful woman as a wife.

A trophy wife is a woman who looks very good to him and any of his Friends, when a person refers to their girlfriend or wife as a trophy wife he wants her for nothing more than her physical attraction and something to show off to all his Friends or people in public period, so if your someones trophy wife, more than likely they don't really love you, they love your physical appearance.

A trophy wife is a wife the husband likes to show around like a new car. As long as you're pretty, he'll treat you like a queen. Once he grows tired of you, he moves to the "new model" and puts you on the side to scrub the house.

What is a trophy? Something captured...something won in a contest...something to show off. Usually a trophy wife is younger and much more attractive than her hubby would normally be able to find were he not rich...or famous.
Not saying that's the case with you, but you asked.

A trophy wife is someone who is picked as a wife for her looks and sexual prowess. That's not really a compliment.

While there's a general consensus on what it means, the following are characteristics of it it:
-The guy should never be able to date you, based on the norm of society.
-You are one hot mama, based on looks alone.
-You are like a trophy: something that his friends can stand around and look at, because it's shiny and pretty.
-You're an all-around, fantastic catch.
So, it can be a good or bad thing, depending on who says it. :)

I am a trophy wife who married for love. Being younger and hotter than his last wife is simply a perk. He makes me happy, not his money. But I am not complaining that he has money. It can work if it is done for love alone.

1. hott
2. high maintenance
A lot of people forget about #2 because it isn't as obvious as #1
