my fiance and i want shells because we got engaged on the beach, and also because we like to collect shells together. for our fall wedding we want shells because it has meaning, but is that a tacky theme because october is fall season? thanks in advance for ur help!! :)

who cares if its not fall theme. i think its cute and its great because it means something to the both of you. Just remember its your day so make it special for you. its a day for u two to remember forever so go with the shells and enjoy congrats on the wedding too.
i am having a fall wedding and its not going to be a fall theme or even fall colors lol. i just picked the fall date since it was the day we met :)

Go for it! It is a great idea! I think things that have meaning at wedding are so much more romantic. People might ask why shells in October but when they hear the story, they will think its cute. Maybe you could even do something with shells for the favors and attach a little tag to it explaining the meaning.

I can see shells going with fall colors perfectly. The "typical" shell/beach themed stuff tends to use a nautical or light blue as a coordinating color, but why not pair shells with pretty browns, oranges and/or dark purple?

If you want a beach feel. How about rocks, driftwood other things that can feel fall, as well as, shells. Maybe find a reception facility on the water.
EDIT:
Naanaa I was walking by a florist in the city and driftwood was on display housing orchids and greens. It was very beautiful. They looked like a great way to present your beach theme in your centerpieces.

do you live in florida? if you live somewhere near shells it is fine anytime. it is not tacky, but shells are thought of as beach and hot weather decor

Not tacky if it's what you want...this past July I went to Christmas theme wedding, because they met at Christmas and he was going to be in Iraq this Christmas, so it was in July. Who cares what anyone else wants...it's your day!

that is the gayest thing I have ever heard, its even worse that Jordan and Peter Andre's wedding! And for your husband to be to accept this idea, i'd definatly be worried about him- he may try and run off with the best man!! if ya catch my drift! hahaah!
