Go to beliefnet.com. They have a TON of stuff on different religions, and lots of boards full of people to help you find the right path.
religoustolerance.org is aonther good site that has plenty of balanced articles about religion that aren't to preachy.
There are a TON of religions out there, a lot more than you might think. There is surely one out there that fits your beliefs. Finding it is the hard part. And if you don't find a label that fits you, go without one.
I don't blame you about all of the "END OF THE WORLD" stuff. I hate it too. It's just the history channel trying to make history interesting.

Of what u have written, i can only assume one thing: You get filled with annoyance and anger when u see or hear anything about religion becuz deep down u do believe, and u hate the fact that these signs remind u of this unstable condition u r in. I think you know and believe God exists, except u havent been lead to the right religion. You want to find the "real" explanation to life, I suggest u look for it becuz only then will u have inner peace.
btw excuse my assumptions if they're way off track...

Threatening someone with hell has never been my idea of winning anyone to Jesus Christ. Jesus loves you. It's about love and forgiveness, cleansing and restoring. That's what salvation brings a person.
I don't know why you are angry, but I'm sorry you are. It's not a bad thing to be questioning. In this day and age, I think it's wise to consider eternal things.
I don't know what else to say other than I pray for you, that God will show you who He truly is. That He loves you and has a good plan for you. That knowing Jesus Christ and understanding the treasures in the bible will change you from an angry person to a person of joy and peace.

You're touching on the sociological aspect of the human nature. It is something that is commonly experienced by most individuals when a person reaches a certain stage in life, and it also depends on the dynamics of a particular environment that surrounds the individual.
This internal conflict results from a metamorphosis that becomes apparent and visible during one's adolescent [or teenage] years, when a person becomes over-sensitive, highly volatile, and prone to explosions of rebellion towards authority figures and everything that they stand for.
Be patient with yourself. And more especially with your parents. The time will come when you will be able to fend for yourself and be able to build your own cave, apart from the cave that your parents built for you and your siblings.
Bear in mind that in the animal kingdom, most other animals live and survive on their own after only a year or so being nurtured by their progenitors or parents. In the case of humans, however, it takes at least 18 years for this to occur, maybe even more for others, before they become fully liberated to do as they please and behave within the new rules that they make for themselves. And for their offspring.
And so life goes on...
Peace be with you.

feeling as though god's forsaken us, is fairly common. And the end is near, has been said for centuries, but it won't be god's wrath, Man is his own worst enemy and it is he, who will destroy himself and the earth. Yes, i think u have answered ur own question about ur father, 2 much of anything can be bad for u, even if its good. Try ur best not to let it stress u. I should think god would want u 2 choose him, rather than b forced in2 it. U no u can't keep what u take by force.

You got to have more faith within yourself towards going onto the right path, nothing ever happens overnight, you can always pick up a bible and read, no one has to go to church to have a relationship with god, you can always pray on your own and start out going on the right path, you got to do it because you want to, don't live for other people, live for yourself and you will see how to get yourself on the right path, not all religious or god loving people talk about nothing but their religion and god, they just have a relationship with him.

Okay. I see some good news and some bad news in this.
Good news: No bigotry or intolerance -- that's a good thing. Beginning to separate yourself from your parents and their views -- also a good and necessary thing.
Bad news: Overwhelming feelings of unspecific anger.
As for questioning the existence of god, that's a great thing, greater than you know. Only truly mature persons insist on knowing the true nature of reality -- and they refuse to settle for any story sold by others, no matter how nice and comforting the tale may be. Politicians and used car salesmen will fear you!
I suggest that your anger is actually your subconscious mind trying to make you pay attention to something that's not right in your world. Listen to it; don't be afraid of it. It's not your enemy. It's you.
Good luck.

Never get saved because of pressure. Get saved because you love the Lord and have been born again.
Anger will kill you. Work it out. Go to church. read the Word every single day. Be saved and live.
Pro 15:18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but [he that is] slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Pro 16:32 [He that is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Ecc 7:9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Anger is the spirit that the world gives you. Here is the spirit that God gives you:
2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

It's probably nothing more than just annoyance at people who think that the end is near. A lot of people are paranoid anymore about the end of the world. Don't let it get to you. If you find yourself getting mad stop and pray til that feeling goes away. It works for me. God Bless.

Dear misfit_101,
I don't know if i can answer your question as to why you are so angry. But i can tell that you probably are a little bit confused and are trying to discover who God is for yourself. You probably feel forced and pressured into your father's religion and that angers you as well.
In terms of helping you not be so angry i guess i'd need to know a little bit more about the situation to help you figure out why and how to solve that.
i can offer you advice from both my personal experience and the Bible.
Hope to help. Kindly,
Nickster
