If a man says it is better that a man steal five cents rather than a million dollars he is agreeing that this sin is less than another which is okay because man is not perfect, If God is perfect ALL sin is bad and all worthy of death. If God agrees in any way with any sin he is not a perfect God. It is the reason the wages of sin is death and the reason God came to the world in the form of man to overcome sin and death.

Scotty, Proverbs 15: 9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

~Marhamah~ If a man steals he is a theif the amount is not of consequence if I am a perfect God I can not agree with any thief. If God says it is better to steal a small amount he is agreeing with stealing and con not be perfect. The true God says all theives are sinners and all sinners perish as the wages of sin is death, It is the reason God came to the world to overcome sin and death to pay that penalty and remain a perfect God to bring us sinful creatures to his righteousness.

Sand Art my questiion was not about God's capabilities I asked if God agreed with sin would he be a righteous God? We know God is able to do anything but God does not lie and God does not agree with sin because God is righteous and to do unrighteous things would mean God is not righteous. it issnt about his capabilities but its about his nature... It is who he is.

Your right, God cannot agree that some sin is lesser and be perfect, scripture says if you've broken the least of the commandments you've broken them all.

I think the way your question is worded is very confusing. Let me examine it a bit...

"Can God decide that some sins are lesser...?"
__Yes, because He can do anything He wants - after all He created ALL things - BUT, He chooses to call all sin, sin.

However, for the sake of argument - IF He were to decide that some sins are lesser is He still perfect?
__Yes.

"I AM the Alpha, Omega, Beginning and End"
___He made us, He certainly has the right to make the rules and to set the punishments. Period.

That's my opinion.
ADDED: Now you say If God AGREED with sin. But I'll stick to your original question. God would not count some sin as lesser than others.
His nature is that He is a just and loving God, who will give His children correction when needed.

Hi djmantx

The scripture says that the wages of sin is death - not that the wages of some sins is death & the wages of others is semi-death...

God doesn't differenciate between one sin & another - all are abominable, all will shatter a relationship with him, all are darkness & God is light & any one of them will let us die. If one sin was worse than another then Jesus could not have said that the whole law & the prophets hang on 2 statements - to love god above all else & to love your neighbor as yourself. Every single sin will not be committed as long as we obey those 2 rules - so how can one sin be worse than another?

Now if one sin were worse or better or more severe than another I would be justified in feeling that God is unfair - but if you remember the scripture says that God's ways are not unequal, but it is man's ways that is unequal. I believe that it is man, not God that declares the severity of one crime over another, that is still our perspective not God's.

There is no difference to God if we are 0% holy or 99% holy - if there is 1% unholy it equals unholy because God can't even look at sin according to the Bible "Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?".

All sin has the same punishment - spiritual death. Not all sins are classified the same, although each one is punished the same. God calls some sins just sins while yet other sins are abominations.

No, why should He decide? Sin is sin, no matter how great or, how small, He sees sin the same! He is a God of Love and of Justice!

True. God doesn't think any sin is worse. However, if you're talking about degrees of Hell, those who didn't know they were sinning (who we never told) and died at an early age, will probably not have it as bad but will go to Hell. Those who did it purposely and as much of it as they could will most likely have it worse in Hell. Just imagine how worse it could be than just fire, worms, darkness, and screaming. Triple those and imagine how bad it'd be for them!!!

Absolutely
Do you think it's fair if someone steal 1$ get the same punishment with someone who killed 1000 people?
Can God still be a perfect God if He is not fair when He gives punishment?
