This definitely was posted in the wrong place.

But it depends on what the work environment and company policies are.

I am a supervisor at a small company and we refer to our employee handbook which specifically tells us what infractions you can receive disciplinary actions for. The different types of disciplinary actions we have are:

1 a memo to file this would describe an issue and what was discussed with the employee.

2 verbal warning, even though it is written for documentation purposes it is considered a verbal

3 written warning

4 final warning

After the final if isubordination continues to occur the employee is fired.

Now 1 or all of these steps can be skipped by management discretion depending on the situation.

We handle all employee issues by the employee handbook to be fair and also to protect ourselves and the company from potential legal issues.

This isn't really a question for Weddings, so you may want to check your category.

I'd sit down and talk to that person one on one as a verbal warning about his/her behavior and to counsel them on what correct behavior is. After that, I would follow the disciplinary guidelines of my company.

Talk to them. Then fire them.

I would talk to them privately.
