I'm doing a science paper called "What type of scientist are you?" for middle school. I was wondering what type of science subjects pediatricians have to use because thats what I'm writing about. I chose this because I want to be a pediatrician when I grow up. So trying to learn the most I can about pediatricians. HELP ME!!!

For the most part, we use science in the same manner that other physicians do. Physiology, pathology, microbiology are only minimally different in pediatrics. There are some special preventive medicine issues such as immunizations and nutrition instruction and advice. (Prevent obesity and heart disease). We have to know a lot about normal and abnormal growth and development. Genetics is becoming more important in all medical specialties, but I contend that the trend had it's start mainly in pediatrics. A lot of well child care is directed toward making a healthy adult.

On a different plane, I helped my daughters with their science fair projects. It was fun, and they did well.
