I am feeling all sentimental and fuzzy right now ...
I just recieved a message on friends ruinited from my very first love !
I was 7 and he was 6 lol
and we havent seen each other in about 20 years , since we were about 16
how he recognised me from my profile I don't know , because my name has changed since ( married now )
I remember when we were kids that his ball rolled under a truck and I went to rescue it for him , but came up too soon and hit my head on the undercarriage of the truck .... had to go to hospital and get stitches
but it led to me having to have a cyst removed about 10 years ago as it never properly healed
should I get him back for it ? lol

i'll never forget her-she was just the sweetest girl...we were friends from kindergarten on...she was my first crush, the first girl i ever injured myself trying to impress-we used to argue over who was better, the beatles (me) or the monkees(her)...it was always just assumed that we would be together always, until after my dad died and we moved away-i missed her terribly, thought about her all the time, knew that someday i would go back for her-then in junior high she developed cervical cancer. the last time we spoke, by phone, we told goofy jokes, swapped tales of 'teenage hijinks' and told each other 'i love you, i miss you'...the next day, her mom called to say that she had passed away...i cried and cried-it felt like someone had ripped by heart out-but i was also relieved that she was no longer suffering, and i know that i'll see her again someday...

We were both twelve. That was 33 years ago. It lasted all of two or three weeks. Hearing The Carpenters sing Top of the World can still bring it all back.

They say that puppy love is not true love, but how come I have never fallen so completely for any woman since? I have been skeptical and apprehensive since that first time.

Would I like to meet her again today? Not on your life. I am widowed and not seeing anyone, so that's not the reason. It's just that she is 45 as well, and knowing a bit about biology, there is about a 0.05% chance that she has aged in an agreeable way. She was pretty as can be back then though.

edit: I suppose I can give her name: Dolores McMurphy

Ye gods, yes. New girl came to school, was a bit of a tomboy - fell pretty hard. Didn't work out, unfortunately, but we still remained friends (thankfully). Very sweet and amazing girl.

I went to her wedding about 7 years later, when we were both in college. She proved the old saying, about a bride being most beautiful on her wedding day - she positively glowed with happiness.

Awww..
Thanks sharing that great story.

Yes I remember my first love, the girl next door. Many many happy memories with her. Although I cannot remember back that far, I've been told we'd been friends since we first met as newborn babies.

My parents moved when I was 8, so I lost contact. Went to college to do A-levels and she happened to being several of the same classes as me. I didn't realise as she had changed so much, but she recognised me. Felt really bad when I figured out who she was, as she must have thought I was being really rude.

Tried to stay in touch, but lost contact again when we went to different universities. Do wonder sometimes if we'll end up bumping into each, in unexpected places, as I managed to bump into numerous old friends at unexpected places/times.

Probably best to let your first love off re. the head wound. It seems to have turned out fine in the end, and I guess he would be ribbed something chronic if his mates found out that he'd let a "girl" (as you were at time) retrieve a ball for him. (Best to keep it quiet unless he brings it up.)

What a sweet story.

My first puppy love, we were both 7.

Unfortunately he was struck by lightning and killed when he was 18. But I have never forgotten that sweet, secret, 7-y-old kiss. I still treasure the memory even though it was such a looooong time ago.

My first love was my father's Hustler collection from the 70's... I had a few girls I really liked, but I was such a dork back then, I never got any girls...

Actually, its kinda fun to go home now. I run into all those people that used to be popular and "hot" and most of them are overweight and working at Walmart or a gas station, and when they see me, they cant believe their eyes...

Yes, a girl named Victoria in kindergarten. A few days after I met her, I turned around and accidentally bashed her in the head with my metal lunchbox :\ I didn't have the best social skills back then. She moved away when I was in 2nd grade, I think...

I was 14, she sang to me in math class, "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls, at that point i knew i was in love... or at least i thought so.

We started dating when we were 15, we were inseparable for the first few months (but that's usually how infatuation works), but it hardly lasted a year. I had problems... we all do, but she couldn't handle mine and just eventually considered me a "burden" (she didn't actually say that but that's how she treated me) and ripped out my heart...

She was the first and only love i've ever known... and it wasn't even real.

That was about 4 years ago... I haven't been with anyone since.

and i've tried.

God knows... i've tried.
