Honestly, a diesel engine is probably just getting started at 100K, so you can expect the engine to last a while.

I'd say $2.9K sounds like a good price to me.

The 93' Ford F-350's had the Turbo Diesel in them. The Turbo was the precursor to the Power Stroke. It was a 7.3L engine. The engine was MFG by International/Navistar. The 6.9's were out of the trucks in the late 80's. I want to say 86/87 but I may be wrong. The Turbo was a good engine, fuel mileage was not very good but at that time no one cared really about mileage. They hauled a decent load and were somewhat powerful. Remember, the truck itself with the engine will weigh around 6500lbs. depending on configuration. They were smoke belchers but weren't they all back then?! I would say 2900$ is a good deal, be more concerned about the body of the truck instead of the engine. Early 90's Fords are NOTORIOUS for rust problems, wheel wells, tailgates and in rare occasions, cab corners. The Turbo uses a common rail injection system which is better than its predecessor with a carb set-up.

These trucks are prized by some diesel heads as it's the last of the breed that ran without a computer. But I beleive that year should have the turbo

No real problems other than the glow plugs burning out occasionally and as the other poster said about any leaks around the fuel pump and injector pump.

But pretty good price depending upon the condition.... About the price most of my friends have been spending on getting these trucks.

Have it checked out to make sure the fuel injection pump isn't leaking.

If it runs good, who knows how many more mile it may go. 100K + ????

If the pump is leaking or leaks and it need repaired you're going to need $1000 or so to fix it.

Don't believe the 6.9 's had turbos.

Price is how much you willing to pay for it, that what it's worth.

$2900 is a fantastic bargain for one of those. Our 97 Powerstroke with 275,000 miles and very minor rust on doors was appraised at $7,500.
