Christ why the heck do they continue to call themselves Christians. I don't know about you but I think they have some nerve, and a brass neck for continuing to use Christ's name, when they don't believe in him. Do you.

The way I understand it, they do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God. They view Him as just another created being. Also, I'm not certain if they call themselves "Christians" per say, but if they do, they have a different understanding of what a Christian is than we do. That is a major problem when debating/ discussing with cults. They tend to use the same words we do (i.e., salvation, redemption, Christian, believer), but they define them differently and they don't mean the same things to them.

The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses believe in Christ as the Savior for mankind.

Eph 5:23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of his body, the church; he gave his life to be her Savior.

We do believe in Jesus. If someone told you
that we do not, that is untrue. We call ourselves
Christians because we try each moment of each
day to have the mind of Christ and follow in his
footsteps.

We had a Convention all over the World and the
theme of the Convention was. "Follow the Christ".

So with that being said, it shows that we do believe
in Christ and we teach people about his father's
Kingdom just as he did while he was here on Earth.

John 17:3.

At least try to learn the facts first. We definitely believe in Jesus Christ. In fact, we closely follow his example in following the Bible as the guide for man. Especially, when it speaks of him being the first-born of creation. (Col. 1:15,16) That is what "only-begotten" means; the only one personally created by Jehovah. All other things were created using him. As Jesus himself said, "Before Abraham, I have been." (John 8:58)

We are very much qualified to be called true Christians. Who else is obeying Matthew 24:14? As James 1:22 calls for Christians to become doers of the Word, not hearers only. The world is composed of hearers only and us it seems We seem to be the only active preachers and teachers as 1st century Christians were.

We also obey 2 Cor. 13:5 which tells Christians to "keep testing, Keep proving what you yourselves are." We keep searching the scriptures to prove what we should believe and seem to be the only ones again who can turn in your Bible and show you what the Bible says to believe.

We follow 1 Cor. 1:10 in that we all speak in agreement. There are over 700 kinds of Baptists, for example. There is only 1 kind of Jehovah's Witness. Where ever you go in the world, any Kingdom Hall will teach the same thing.

We recognize for example, Jehovah did the most remarkable thing most of you are not even aware of. Since Jesus could not pick up his human form again after resurrection as this would have negated the whole reason for his painful death. Jesus was resurrected in a spiritual body, as flesh and blood cannot enter heaven. (1Cor. 15:50) When he did return to heaven, Jehovah gave him every memory, all power, he had before he went to earth. This gives all of us hope for our loved ones dead for a long time, Jehovah can restore them in new bodies with all that was them in life.

Now Jehovah has elevated Jesus even higher as King of God's Kingdom in heaven and shortly to be over the earth.

We are careful as we want to live under that Kingdom. We do not want to be as false Christians and those scribes and Pharisees were. "It is in vain they keep worshiping me because they teach commands of men as doctrines." (Matt. 15:9) As one Catholic priest said when a 5 yr. old girl offered him the "Watchtower", "I'd would use it for toilet paper." The little girl, knowing it quoted a lot of the Bible, said, "Oh be careful. The Bible says the Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword."

If Jesus said I am the way the truth and the light no one gets to the father except by me. Will Jesus let Jehovah Witnesses in to heaven,
or would they have to change their mind and
believe he was God, answers from serious people.

They DO believe in Jesus.

They released a book called 'The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived'. It was all about his life and ministry.

Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones who take Christ's command to 'go and make disciples' at Matthew 28:19, 20 with any degree of seriousness.

--------------

Jehovah's Witnesses do not call Jesus, Jehovah. Jehovah is God's name. Jehovah and Jesus are two different individuals. They also believe that Jesus had a pre-human existence and that he is the son of God.

To be truthful I couldn't care less. I used to think Christian meant Christ like, to be loving, to be compassionate, kindness, to help those who are worse off than yourself.
I know many people who are all these things and more, and they don't call themselves Christian, they are just human.

Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses *DO* believe in Jesus. The formal name of the religion is "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses".

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

A few self-described "Christians" have claimed that the title applies uniquely to those who believe precisely as they do. They apparently take for themselves a role which properly belongs to Christ himself.

(Matthew 7:21-23) Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, ...and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.

Ironically, the bible most closely associates being "Christian" with preaching about Christ and Christ's teachings. Review all three times the bible uses the term "Christian" and note that the context connects the term with:
"declaring the good news"
'teaching quite a crowd'
'open eyes, turn from dark to light'
"uttering sayings of truth"
"persuade"
"keep on glorifying"

(Acts 11:20-26) [The early disciples of Jesus] began talking to the Greek-speaking people, declaring the good news of the Lord Jesus... and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.

(Acts 26:17-28) [Jesus said to Paul] I am sending you, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God... Paul said: “I am not going mad, Your Excellency Festus, but I am uttering sayings of truth and of soundness of mind. ...Do you, King Agrippa, believe the Prophets? I know you believe.” But Agrippa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.”

(1 Peter 4:14-16) If you are being reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy... But if he suffers as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name

So why do anti-Witnesses try to hijack the term "Christian" and hide its Scriptural implications? Because anti-Witnesses recognize that it is the preaching work that makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

In some ways it itsn't a fair observation, because they feel they believe in the real Jesus.

I do not agree with them and think it is making Jesus far too small to say he was a created superangel who existed only in the memory of God after he died and God recreated a new Jesus to raise him from the dead

I do not agree with them, so I would rather state the areas of disagreements direction. Generally I find them sincere and would not critisize them for their lack of sincerity but I disagree they represent the Bible or Jesus or the gospel as well as they should MY best understanding is that they have a different Jesus and a different gospel than that of the Bible

I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Not only do we believe in him, but as Christians, we strive to live our lives in accord with his teachings as found in the Bible. We recognise him as the only beggoten son of Jehovah God. In fact the only thing we, as a group, celebrate is the memorial of his Death, in accordance with his words as found in the Bible.
