It's probably not you. The housing market is very unstable right now.

If they were truly offended enough to move away, I think you would hear something by now. They are more likely to try and get you to move if they feel that you dont belong because of your race. They would be offended that you had the audacity to step foot into their "white" neighborhood. I doubt it is because of your race, it is more likely the state of the housing market. Do some research, and heck ask some of your neighbors. If they seem to avoid the question or provide shady answers then you may have a right to be offended. Hopefully it isnt a serious reason, like enviromental or such that people are moving.
In the mean time try to make friends with some of them and see how they react, then you'll know how they truly feel.

Dont be. If that is the reason you will encounter people like them everywhere and you will spend a lifetime wondering if you were the cause for their actions. You cannot worry about or save everyone. Enjoy your new house and if you feel that bad about it invite some of your neighbors over to see how civil you two are. When my family moved to an all white neighborhood alot of black families began moving there too but from awgul areas and our white neighbors were suddenly gone. Like I said enjoy your new house and dont worry about the ignorant people who cannot see past color if this was indeed the case they moved

Yes you should be offended BUT how do you know that is the reason why they moved. You should feel a little racism there if you knew that was the exact reason or they treated you different because you weren't white. But since they are already gone and moved there is nothing to worry about anymore. You will always run into people like that so don't sweat it and ignore it.

No. I think you should stop worrying about 'white' or 'brown' or 'blue' or whatever. Believe it or not, 99% of ALL 'white' people (whatever that is) don't give one rat's a$$ about skin color. (honest). If you don't have a bunch of old, rusted cars on your front lawn or a pentagram painted in blood on your front door or maybe some cows on the lawn then why would anyone care about you? Be a good neighbor, be a good person and if someone is shallow enough to move away because of your skin tone then to hell with them.

Nope. If THEY are the ones "offended" by your arrival- it's THEIR problem, NOT yours. Wish them "luck" that they can find a house as nice as yours (& hope that the NEXT one they buy- they can AFFORD!). People are losing their homes to foreclosures all over the Country these days... -THAT may be why THEY'RE leaving- & you're NOT. Things are not always as "black and white"- as they seem. Oftentimes there's alot about GREEN added to the mixture... :)

Let them go. You just enjoy your new home and neighborhood. How many times are they going to move?
There are no guarantees where ever they are going to move to is going to remain a white neighborhood.

Don't even let it bother you. Don't even think about it. If they are moving for that reason, then good riddance. You don't need them as neighbors anyway.

Don't be offended, just think of them as being self centered idiots who will never be happy.
