But now I have another question, I'm still a white belt
and am looking for a sensei, I heard about a few people
that could be black belts but I can't contact them, what
should I do?

They would rather get students that have taken the time to search them out and find them and they will refuse some students so keep trying. They only want the serious students that want to dedicate themselves and usually are in a situation where they can be selective. There are some instructors in this country and certainly in Japan that won't take certain students or types of students. I personally know a Japanese instructor of note in this country that will not take women or most non Asiatic students whose classes are closed to the public. I also know a number of instructors in Japan that likewise will not take a student without some kind of recommendation from someone that the instructor knows. Persistence as well as your attitude will sometimes go a long way in gaining access to them.
