I don't know if you can get hold of this stuff where you live but if ever in Ireland try and get a hold of Bewleys Java.
This stuff is probably the greatest coffee I ever had. It's very aromatic. I have the fondest memories of making a pot on saturday mornings. The whole house was smelling of coffee. Believe me that it woke up all my housemates within 5 minutes

Hello lili, have you tried a combination? Try mixing half and half Italian dark roast and French Roast. Tasty, but maybe too strong for a lot of people. Another one to try is one I made up years ago when I used to sell coffee beans in Southern California. Take 6 ounces of Sumatran coffee and mix with French Roast and Peruvian blend. Comes out smooth with a touch of nuttiness. At least to me. Mix 4 ounces of each and add 2 ounces of Mocha.
That's it.

I'm sure you are thinking about "proper" coffee, rather than the instant variety. Well, what suits one person doesn't suit another, so it's hard to recommend a particular brand. To see a good range of different ready ground and beans, try Waitrose if there's a branch nearby.
But Waitrose isn't cheap, so I have to confess that my usual quaff is the rather cheaper "dark roast" ready ground from Aldi - I think it's about £1.10 per 250 grammes.. At least it is 100% Arabica, so it isn't cut with the cheaper (but less flavoursome) Robusta variety. No Fair Trade credentials, though.

Thanksgiving coffee from N.CA (Fort Bragg), they make a dark sweet Italian roast. Although it's an espresso, it works amazingly as a good cup of coffee.
I too like a dark strong mellow cup...Thanksgiving Coffee is available online...I've not had a bad roast from them in 15 years! Lot's of varieties...all good. Best of all they're eco-friendly company and give back to our planet. And the owners are very nice down to earth people that willingly will help you out...for real!!!!

costa rican coffee beans typically contain the most caffeine (there are others with more... but as a general rule).

the darker the roast, the less caffeine that is present, so... if you want that caffeine jolt don't go for the dark roast, if you want the dark burnt flavor, then stick with a french roast.

For Instant you cannot beat Kenco Costa Rica or Brazillian,
but if you prefer fresh brewed filter Douwe Egberts Dark Roast strength 5.

Tip for keeping fresh coffee tasting good, once packet has been opened tip remainder into a jar and keep in the fridge not in the cupboard.

CHOCK FULL O' NUTS! Its a coffee that is excellent and usually affordable. Not all grocery stores carry it. Before I knew what brand the "house" was using one average day, I said wow! I don't know but this coffee is something great. It turned out to be chock full o' nuts.

I use Folgers Columbian in their darkest setting though any kind will do as long as its not store brand. Hey---did you know with a small investment of a coffee grinder you can grind it more and subsequently use less and lower your food bill.
