When you cook the shrimp like that you're actually steaming them. It depends on the veg, try the lemon juice with broccoli, zucchini and maybe yellow squash. Otherwise just try some water.

You can't Fry in lemon juice! You'd be steaming, poaching, or possibly braising, but not frying! There's no low-fat way to fry because the term "frying" involves a certain amount of fat. Oven frying is a term whereby you coat your food in a small amount of oil or fat and bake it at high temperature. Try that. It's lower fat but not truly low-fat.

Hmmm...for veggies.... I can't think of anything, but baking fresh veggies gives them a crunch. Like get a head of fresh Broc. cut it up, put it on a cookie sheet, spritz some olive oil on them and blast the heat to 500 for maybe 15 minutes. But if you are looking for a low fat way to "fry" chicken. use crushed corn flakes and egg whites. yum.

if your using lemon juice your not frying, your seuataing the prawns,
what you can do is use olive oil to fry things, use a little oil and then add little water
Olive oil is considered a healthy oil because of its high content of monounsaturated fat (mainly oleic acid) and polyphenols.

^I use Olive Oil or Butter Flavored Pam. You can also oven fry with it and use a non-stick pan.
Again using a non-stick pan and a teaspoon to a tablespoon of olive oil depending on the size of the pan you can saute them.

If you're frying chicken don't put flour on the chicken. You won't get the delicious, yet fatty skin.

I'd say you can use lo-fat bouillon or consomme.
But that isn't really frying;-} it adds more flavour than water.
