Self harming and suicidal thoughts are definately not good and you need to go and see your doctor and truthfully explain how and what you are feeling as you are depressed right now you may need to be prescribed some antidepressant medication and some counselling to talk through why you are feeling this way and find otherways to release inner pain and hurt other than selfharming. Please seek help as soon as possible!

It sounds like you are very depressed, and at t 13, your hormones are not helping the situation. If you have a trusted adult that you feel you can talk to, please do ASAP. Cutting and self mutilization is a symptom of severe depression, and possibly an anxiety disorder. It's good that you realize that you have a problem, you made the 1st step. The next thing to do is talk to someone you can trust to help you and not judge you. Antidepressants can be dangerous in young teens, so if you don't absolutely have to take them don't. Counseling can be a big help in sorting out your feelings and emotions, without having to put you on medication. I would try without meds if you can and just do counseling. If you don't feel comfortable with a counselor, then find one you do. you will make faster progress if you do. Self esteem is very important, and the sooner you can re-build yours, the better you will feel. Don't let people put you down, they are only trying to hurt you to make themselves feel better. Just don't listen to any of the negative stuff you hear from others, you just don't need it right now. Focus on the positive.
Hope you feel better soon.

hey ya I had issues like that, I would say it is normal for someone with depression to feel this way. I just stopped one day, and it is not easy, I had to hide all the sharp things and curl up into a ball until the urge was over. I would cry and pull my hair for the pain. but you will learn it won't go away, If you love something enough like you dog then you will never kill yourself. find something that makes you happy and do it often, don't be afraid to show pain, and stop worrying about appearance or academic achievement, if it will make you feel better I can be your Friend then you will never have to be the ugliest one, I will take of it for you lol I am not going to recommend consulars or parents or pills because people who don't want others to help them won't seek help in the first place.

hi. sorry you are going through a lot of hard times. I am not a doctor, so i cannot diagnose anything, especially online, but I would say you have some serious depression going on. I dont think you are bipolar, b/c that is Manic/ depressive. (Happy to Sad quickly). Depression is a disorder that affects your thoughts, moods, feelings, behavior and even your physical health. People used to think it was "all in your head" and that if you really tried, you could "snap out of it" or just "get over it." But doctors now know that depression is not a weakness, and it's not something you can treat on your own. Depression is a medical disorder with a biological and chemical basis.
Sometimes a stressful life event triggers depression. Other times depression seems to occur spontaneously with no identifiable specific cause. Depression is much more than grieving or a bout of the blues.
Depression may occur only once in a person's life. Often, however, it occurs as repeated episodes over a lifetime, with periods free of depression in between. Or it may be a chronic condition, requiring ongoing treatment over a lifetime.
People of all ages and races suffer from depression. Medications are available that are generally safe and effective, even for the most severe depression. With proper treatment, most people with serious depression improve, often within weeks, and can return to normal daily activities.
If you show little interest in once-enjoyable activities, if you feel sad, helpless, tired or worthless, and if your eating and sleeping habits have changed greatly, see your doctor to determine if you have depression. If you know someone who exhibits the characteristics of depression, encourage him or her to seek professional help.
Screening and diagnosis
To diagnose depression, your doctor may perform a physical examination, including tests to rule out conditions that can cause symptoms that mimic depression.
If your doctor sees signs of severe depression or suspects the possibility of suicide, he or she may refer you to a medical doctor who specializes in mental illness (psychiatrist) or even recommend immediate hospitalization.
Your doctor or psychiatrist diagnoses depression based on the hallmark signs and symptoms of the disease, plus the presence of other signs and symptoms that typically accompany depression.
Coping skills
Self-help organizations have become potent allies for people who are coping with mental illness or who care about someone with such an illness. For depression or other mental illnesses, self-help groups include:
National Mental Health Association (NMHA): (800) 969-6642; or, in a crisis: (800) SUICIDE (784-2433)
National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI): (800) 950-6264
Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance: (800) 826-3632

it seems to me that you are depressed about something. dont be afraid to talk to a school counselor. self destructive behavior like cutting yourself is a good sign of depression. if you dont want to talk to anybody, first figure out why you are depressed, then try finding some good books on depression. if you are comfortable with talking to your parents about it, they can take you to a doctor and get you some anti-depressants. the thing about anti-depressants, they dont make the problem go away, but they can help you see things a little easier, and help you think clearer. just remember, you are not alone. millions of teens deal with this just like you do. i hope things get better for you sweetie, dont give up hope!
