Sometimes you just have to let things be until you are out on your own. I always wanted a cat too but my mom wouldn't let me have one. Now that I've had to wait, I think I appreciate my cats more because I wanted them for so long. And I think that also makes me take better care of them too.

Wait til you have your own apartment. I want a puppy really bad also but its not just the want to, you have to be responsible and be able to pay vet fee's and food and time. If your dad is allergic you will not be able to have a cat in the house, even if it stays in your room all day. Wait til your old enogh to buy it yourself and take care of it. Being a pet owner requires planning and responibility and it doesnt seem like right now is a good time for you. Maybe turn to your neighbors and become a pet sitter or offer to walk their dogs after school, that will show your parents responsibility with animals.
Good Luck

If your father is alergic to cats, you will simply need to be more understanding. Your parents aren't trying to be mean to you by saying no, but it could make your father's life miserable to have a cat in the house with his allergies. And himilayans, with their long hair, are not good cats to have outside. When you're older and you have a place of your own, keep it in mind and you can get a himilayan then. I had one and they are wonderful, loving pets and very, very cute!
However, if you would like to try one more thing, depending on the severity of your father's allergy and only if he would be willing - persian and himilayan cats often don't give people the same severity of allergic reactions that other breeds of cats do. So perhaps if your father was agreeable to go and handle the cat and see how severe his reaction was - if he had no reaction then your family might reconsider.

I hate to say it but when you're living under your parents roof what they say goes. If they aren't up to letting you get the kitten you're probably not getting it.
Don't worry though just make up for it when you're out on your own like I did.

what type of dog does you all have? if its not poodle or yorkie then its does shed. that means that hes allergeric to it also. so there is no point in not haveing a cat. try that one.
