burned out emotionally, I go for a long run...outdoors...enjoy the beautiful world God has given me....getting the endorphins pumping is a great natural high...you sweat out toxins, and at the end, I feel cleansed.
burned out physically, I put in my favorite movie, "Last of the Mohicans", I lay on the couch with a Taco Bell Burrito, and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the moment.

Travel can help me recover, even if it's just a short day trip. There's a lot to be said for physically getting away for a while. Sometimes, I just take a drive to a place I've never been before. Also, there's nature. I don't feel quite so burned out when I'm walking through a forest or looking up at the night sky.

I don't see how resting has to be made into a godly and religious thing.
If you are burnt out, just prioritize your life. If this means backing out of some commitments, just explain it nicely that you have too much going on right now. You have to take care of your self before you can help others.

everyone seems to be human beings, they suspect what they desire to have faith. If she thinks her paintings is sturdy, then perhaps it is, to her. Insulting someones paintings is merely impolite. merely because of the fact you do no longer like it does not make it undesirable, merely potential its no longer your form. As for mendacity, that's no longer in basic terms a hypocritical christian element, its a hypocritcal human element. the reality is christians shouldn't lie, yet regrettably, none individuals is suitable, and actually some do have an inclination to lie. you are going to be able to desire to inform her to take the plank out of her very own eye earlier she runs around preaching to others. the only time I pay attention to somebody pontificate is at church, everywhere else i don't have the persistence for it. tell her you're no longer gonna pay attention to her because of the fact she does not practice what she preaches, so she needs to zip it till she works on her very own issues.

Some suggestions: Ask the Holy Spirit to come and refresh you:
"When You send Your Spirit, they are created,
and You renew the face of the earth."Psalm 104:30
(NIV)
Read and pray some Scriptures- like:
"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51:10(NIV)
"Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me." Psalm 51:12
"Restore us, O God Almighty; make Your face shine upon us, that we may be saved." Psalm 80:2(NIV)
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself" 1Corinthians 14:4(NIV)
"Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus."
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly."Acts 4:30-32(NIV)
Resist the devil:
"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen."1Peter 5:8-11(NIV)
and sing and Praise the Lord!
"Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him."Psalm 33:1(NIV)

Don't think I'm putting you down when I say this...your service is to God, not to yourself. Getting burned out is saying, in a sense,"I need time for myself, God." You have to set your mind that you are giving service to God and not yourself. Trust me, once you take a break from your service, it is SO hard to get back in to it. Try to intertwine new things rather than the same ole thing into your routine. When the people around you get excited, it makes it easier for you to continue serving. I took a break and a year later, I'm still not serving. Don't fall into that trap. Good luck and God Bless.

I read the Bible, especially the Psalms and the Book of James. They've always lifted my spirit. Plus, I sing, so I put in one of my performance CDs or regular CD and just start praising God. It always works.

Take a Retreat, & spend some time apart in solitude.
Find a Retreat House with a good spiritual director.
Most will grant you an individual program if you ask.

When I get burned out on being a Christian, I just change faiths, right now I am Jewish, tomorrow I may be Catholic and the day after, I might be dead!
