ok it would be nice to know how old your daughter is, but since you didn't say the best way for her to learn is to get her intrested in it. like watching dora the explorer and barney. they really help. when you is around the house just start counting and looking at her with funny faces like a game or you playing with her. you have to keep the fun in it. buy stickers and put them on her like her nose, forhead, or nose and say very good, but dont force her to continue, she will only shut down again. just dont make it so serious and she will stay intrested in doing more. make up silly songs that she may catch on to. everything you do with her around should pretain to you counting but not letting on that you are teching her to count. its not so good force a child that isnt in school yet because it makes them rebell against school but is is good to start teaching them at home. buy her books that sings along with numbers. they have lots of thoes in stores. you said she can count to ten then the next week add on 11 and the week after that add on 12 and so on, but keep it fun and let the cartoones do their jobs. dont forget the stickers. its just better than candy and junk food. let her older cousins around her age but not to older help out also. learning is fun and that is how you want her to see it. remember just out the blue when you are cleaning, cooking, or anything of that matter when she is around just start counting in a fun way. use your imangnation. like 1-2-3 a monkey on my knee, 4-5-6 licky-d-split, 7-8-9 i do a little rhyme, 10-11-12 i do it all so well. and so on. just giving you an idea of how it works. but all in all she will catch on. and she still knows how to count to 10 she isn't doing it for you cause she knows you will make her and kids like doing things on their own.

Put some Skittles or her favorite candies on the table and teach her to count them in increments. Since she can count to 10, get her up to 13, then 16 etc...However far she gets, let her keep that many pieces of candy. It's normal for small children to have a short attention span, therefore make learning fun, something to get her attention for a bit.
Hope this helps!

Try counting french fries at McDonalds. Make a game out of it. 20 pennies goes into her piggybank as she counts them or pick out 20 crayons that way she learns her colors as well. Then color a picture that she picks out together. When my kids were young, we played these games. They are not 16 and 17 and are honor roll students with a very bright future.

you may learn out Brandi Carlile pronto, her new album "the tale" could be ok. My modern-day common rock band is the Fratellis. a number of their songs have a touch of a punkish type whether they somewhat understand the thank you to put in writing nicely melodies. They even have nicely tongue-in-cheek humorous lyrics. The Arctic Monkeys are additionally somewhat nicely. I continuously recommend Robyn Hitchcock to anybody. Robyn has a clean album out together together with his band The Venus 3 stated as "Ole Tarantula," which I extremely recommend. Melodic rock with a undeniable British sound.

My nephew and my niece, both 3, got familiarize with numbers through Dora and Sesame Street. Since I watch them during the day and we're just goofing off, we try to sing our numbers just like our alphabets ( make up the song ). They can count to 25. My nephew can also dial on the phone if I tell him the number he needs to call. It takes a while for them to learn but just make it fun. There's also a site with curious george and it helps kids with numbers by using a dial pad..

Oh the kids love it if you talk like and laugh like THE COUNT (MWAHAHAHA) after every number..They imitate you ...really cute.

When I taught kindergarten we sang this song called "Number Rock" it was very catchy and the kinder kids really liked it. If you google Number Rock song you might be able to find it. If not go to your local teacher store and they may have some number songs on hand to purchase, Go to your local elementary or preschool and ask a Kindergarten or preschool teacher if they have it. I am sure they will give you a copy of number songs.. Have fun!!!!

how old is she... i think the best way is to use props... like little toys or things shes interested to... let her count m&m's or smething small... and when she counts all 20 or gets higher and higher with time let her eat some... that always got me... in order to keep her attention you have to give her something shes interested in first... reward her. start with counting to 10... then 15... then 20... and so on...

try getting her favorite snack like lets say its gummie bears and telling her to count how many gummie bears she wants. It's also a good way 4 her to learn colors.

What's the hurry? Wait until she is interested. Unless she is like 17 years old, there is no point in stuffing this into her head.
