Of course it is man made. And, none of it can be considered true without independent confirmation. There are some prescriptions in the bible which have some intelligence, but there is a lor of material which is nonsense.

Of course it is man made. The Bible is riddled with contradictions, killing, slavery, misogyny, genocide, just to name a few. Funny enough, the circumference of a circle is noted as simply "3," at a time when the Egyptians had already figured it out to several places. In other words, you would think that a divinely inspired book would not contain erroneous info. Further, it has been shown by biblical scholars that not only was it written many years after these events supposedly took place (at least the New Testament), but many stories were simply made up. The story of Jesus and the prostitute when he says, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" was added years later (read "Misquoting Jesus" by Bart Ehrman for more). People need to wake up and realize that religion is man made. The only reason why it's still around because people fear death. NOBODY knows if there is a god, but by the looks of it (all the evil in the world), chances are, there isn't. Enjoy life while you can!

I do think the bible is man made, created and written by men from long ago and reinforced by men ever since. How did it all start...with just a guy's idea, inspiration or imaginings. Fair enough, but he didn't need to impress it on others until the end of time. I myself have some ideas, inspirations and imaginings...some superb ones infact...but you don't see me shouting it from the rooftops and demanding it is the ONLY TRUTH !!
I believe that religion is man made. Man created God and not the other way round.
Sorry all you christians out there, but people need to be allowed to think for themselves and express who they are without being manipulated, controlled and blackmailed by others and especially by a BOOK !
Personally, i have seen the bible do much more harm than good. Is that what was intended by it's author/s?
Very interesting question, i could go on forever, but better leave it at that.
Good luck

The Bible was not written by Romans. It was not written by "a guy".
-The Bible is not just one book it's actually made up of 66 different books.
-It was written by at least 40 different authors over a period of 1,600 years.
-The Bible was written in about 13 different countries on 3 different continents.
-The Bible was written in at least 3 different languages by people from all kinds of professions: shepherds, kings, soldiers, princes, priests, fisherman, scholars, historians, businessmen, and common laborers.
-The Bible has better manuscript credentials than those of ANY other ancient literature or written work.
-A lot of the "stories" in the Bible have been proven to be true by archaeological findings.
-Nobody who wrote the Bible knew Jesus????
Both John and Matthew knew Jesus and traveled with him.
-There is NO debate, every book of the New Testament was written by a baptized Jew between the 40s and the 80s of the first century A.D.
-Questioning the credibility of the New Testament text would require tossing out the validity of every other ancient manuscript ever found. That's the extent to which God's Word stands up as the most reliable verifiable source ever written.
-Although written by men the Bible is God inspired. In total, there are around 3,000 references of the Bible as a whole as being the Word of God. Keep in mind that none of the writers collaborated on their works.

Just to correct something here - the Bible was not written by Romans.
The Old Testament is actually a word-for-word copy of the Jewish Talmud. The Talmud were stories passed down by word of mouth for many generations throughout the Hebrew tribes before it was written down.
The New Testament was written after Jesus Christ's death. While I am an atheist, I do believe such a person existed (note I said person, not son of 'god'). Many historians believe Jesus was the son of Mary and Joseph and had tried to reform Judaism from the corruption he saw going on. Ultimately he died a martyr and the Jewish faction he formed broke off and became a religion in its own right.
It is debated whether or not the New Testament accounts were written down immediately after Christs death or 300-500 years later. We do know they were written in Greek, which was the prevailing language of the time, and later translated into Latin.

Who Wrote the Bible - Evidence of Divine Inspiration
“Who wrote the Bible” is a question that can be definitively answered by examining the biblical texts in light of the external evidences that supports its claims. 2 Timothy 3:16 states that “All scripture is inspired by God….” In 2 Peter 1:20-21, Peter reminds the reader to “know this first of all, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, … but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” The Bible itself tells us that it is God who is the author of His book.
God does not leave us with just claims of His divine handiwork in the Bible, but also supports it with compelling evidence. The design of the Bible itself is a miracle. Written over more than 1,500 years by vastly different writers, yet every book in the Bible is consistent in its message. These 66 books talk about history, prophecy, poetry, and theology. Despite their complexity, differences in writing styles and vast time periods, the books of the Bible agree miraculously well in theme, facts and cross-referencing. No human beings could have planned such an intricate combination of books over a 1,500-year time span. Bible manuscripts (remember, there were no printing presses until 1455) have survived despite weather, persecution and time. Most ancient writings written on weak materials like papyrus have vanished all together. Yet many copies of the Old Testament scriptures survived. For instance, the Dead Sea Scrolls contain all books of the Old Testament, except Esther, and have been dated to before the time of Christ. Consider Julius Caesar’s Gallic Wars. Only ten copies written about 1,000 years after the event are in existence. In comparison, there are over 24,000+ New Testament manuscripts, the earliest one dating to within 24 years after Christ.
The Bible also validates its divine authorship through fulfilled prophecies. An astonishing 668 prophecies have been fulfilled and none have ever been proven false (three are unconfirmed). An honest study of biblical prophecy will compellingly show the divine authorship of the Bible. Further, archeology confirms (or in some cases supports) accounts in the biblical record. No other holy book comes close to the Bible in the amount of evidence supporting its divine authorship.

Nobody who wrote the Bible knew Jesus. The Old Testament was written long before he was born, and the New Testament was written long after he died. The closest you have is Paul who might have known someone who met Jesus. There's not even any good evidence that Jesus actually existed.
There's even less evidence that any god exists. The Bible, itself, says it is man-made. The Old Testament was passed down orally from generation to generation. There is evidence that most of the stories came from earlier myths. The New Testament also contains many of the cultural stories of the time.
Religions were like Hollywood back then, lots of versions of the same types of stories with different people in them, and nothing much original in any of them.

Yes, it's 100% the product of men. And primitive, superstitious, semi-literate men at that. Then translated over and over again for centuries, each time by men with a particular religious and political agenda and often an incomplete understanding of the language they were translating from. And this is what people want to live their lives by? Incomprehensible.
