As a 7th grader, I understand being attracted to someone older because guys your age are usual morons. Keep in mind though that the older guys have more experience, and will be able to say things that sound really nice to you. If he is seeking someone your age, he probably has an agenda. Also usually when someone older likes someone younger, ask yourself why they are not dating anyone their own age. On the flip side, you can't help your feelings, but you can help your actions. Try not to get to give him any signs, and just hang out with your friends at this stage in life. You are going to be okay. This is perfectly normal, and you'll get over it.

What is the real problem here? four years difference is very good age gap. This does not make him an older man. He is what 17-18? This does not make an older man. An older man is 10 or more years older than you are; four is an acceptable rang. But your what 11-12, you should not be thinking of BOYS yet. Grow up have some fun on the way to an acceptable dating age.

Why would you NOT want to be in love?
So what if it won't work out? Isn't it fun and exciting to get all crazy every time you see him? Isn't it wonderful to have someone to dream about? Aren't you lucky to be friends with a guy that's so great?
And you know, in ten years, that age difference isn't going to mean anything at all. Maybe you'll still be friends. Or you run into him somewhere, and say, "I had such a crush on you back then. . . ."
They're called crushes because that's what they do to your heart. But they're awesome, aren't they!

To be UN love with him, I think I need to be harsh with you. You are only in grade 7, you're not finished puberty yet, so you are NOT in love. This is an obsession and only YOU can help yourself, and to do that, you must be stronger than this. Get it into your head that you're being a fool, be angry at yourself, because this is pretty dumb. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, I'm trying to make you stronger, because I have gone trhough the same thing, and yes, it hurts, feels like a heavy wieght or w/e in your stomach, but you have to be strong and force it into yourself that this is just bizarre and not gonna happen. Go find yourself a nother guy too, it's the best way to get over someone i find.

love is not just a button that you can turn on and off, liking someone though is different from love, since oyu are still young i am betting you are just liking this person, my advice is avoid being close to him and go seek male friends that will detour your attention from him, if you have suitors at the moment take them out for a date and see if their personality is compatible with your. in short keep your self busy rather than thinking or staring at him all day!

But in all honesty, how do you know that you are in LOVE with this person. How do you know that it's not just puppy love or a big crush. Like a fad that goes away?

Act older and more mature, but at the same time be cute and funny. Spend more time with him. Or even go out together like to the movies or something. Don't be shy to ask him, for now you're just friends ;) right? but after that, you never know.

There is only one way you might be judging him to quick. Sometimes you might meet somebody you think you like them then when you get to know them more all of a sudden you then wonder why you ever liked them in the first place.

Well, Ashley.......just try to separate yourself from this 'hot' dude. I'm sure there are 'hot' dudes right in your own grade. Seek them out, to get your sights on someONE else.
