UTSA (San Antonio) has a statue of an illegal immigrant carrying his family across the Rio Grande. What makes people think the U.S. Government can or will do anything about illegal immigration when there is a statue celebrating it in the middle of a State University.

The sculpture said the statue represents his illegal parents journey to America. The title of the statue is border crossing. That's how.

What the heck? How do you know he is illegal? Did you check his pockets??

* thanks for the update. That detail would have been helpful before*

And, I don't think the government will do anything about it. I think they all tell the people what they want to hear, then do whatever they so wish anyway.

You can get that taken down simply by putting a Christian cross around his neck.
By the way, what makes you think he's illegal just cuz he's crossing the river with his family on his back and a chicken in his pocket?

To answer your question, perhaps the statue should be turned around, so that it faces south, thus showing the family returning home.

Please provide a link or place where we can see this - this is the first I have ever heard about it and I am stunned that Texans would tolerate it.

I have seen that statue with my own eyes and I don't find that it "promotes illegal immigration". The artist was making a statement about his father.

Of course, it is art--everyone interprets it according to their own frame of reference. You see what you want to see.

You can't stop something as natural as migration, be it legal or illegal, it just won't happen. . .it was done millions of years ago. and it will continue to happen as long as there is life and land. . . .
