Well, if you already have a four-year college degree (Bachelor's Degree) in aerospace engineering or in some other aviation oriented discipline, and are considered to be within the top 10% of your class, you could apply for a commission in the US Air Force, and be considered for pilot training, but there's no guarantee that you'll be accepted, and even if you are accepted, there's no guarantee that you will survive the 7-10 year commitment you will have to make to the US Military.
In a private school, all it takes is money.
What do you think is easier?

Well it depends on what you consider to be easier. With the airforce they will set the standards for achievement very high since pilots usually end up in charge of some rather expensive pieces of equipment.
A private school will have one main standard set for you & that is that you have enough money to pay for your lessons, instructor & aircraft rental. Whether or not you can continue in the airforces pilot training programme will depend on your abilities mostly. Whether or not you can continue with private training will mainly depend on how deep your pockets are.

You can't get a pilot license in any branch of service. You are allowed to fly anything you are qualified to fly, but when you become a civilian again, you can't legally fly anything.
The military can teach you to fly almost anything that will fly, and pay you as you learn. Some of the military craft you will fly have no civilian counterpart, such as the T37. It is a twin engined jet, but with centerline thrust, so you can't transfer your learning to a civilian twin jet, because none are centerline thrust.
To get a pilot certificate for civilian flying, you have to pass pretty much the same tests as anybody else, but you have a very long head start.
Neither is easy, however.

Easier would be to get it privately... the airforce is very strict and requires PERFECT health... it is free with the Air Force but there is no guarantee that you will be selected to fly... When I was getting into aviation, I looked for quality, not difficulty...

i am going to give you a direct answers. the air force is going to be very tough while in a private school as long as you keep bringing them the money you will be flying up in aircraft. i am a 15 year old and i am soon going to start taking private classes so from my point of view you should take private classes as there is no LONG TERM COMMITMENT

I assume you mean a commercial rating, If you are looking for easy, then forget it. The military is good because uncle sam pays the bills, but he owns you for at least 6 to 8 years.

With any of the 'Uncle Sam' programs you will receive great training, at no 'cost'...but.. it is very difficult to make it into the flight training side of the military and even harder to finish.

Easy or any derivative of the word should not be in your vocabulary if you want to fly. But the air force would be more difficult.
