In November 2004 I got arrested for assault and battery. It was my first time getting in trouble. I paid 40 bucks at the police station for bail. I went to court the next day and the judge put me on 6 months probation. 4 months later (while still doing probation) I pumped 30 bucks of gas and took off (Dee Dee Dee!!).. got a citation in the mail. I didn't go to court and as a result I had a warrant until they finally caught me in April 2007. The Judge set bail at 500 bucks. I spent a few hours in county jail and then my mom bailed me out. Went to court a couple of times, the judged order me to pay the 30 bucks to the gas station, and charges were all dismissed including the assault and battery. Why do you think they dismissed all the charges? Was it luck or did I have a good lawyer? By the way I learned from my mistakes.

It was pre-trail probation for the assault

If I was convicted than why did the lawyer say that I now have "no record" and that I could put on job applications that I have never been convicted of a misdemeanor the last time I was in court?

Chris - I know I screwed up but getting arrested on the warrant made me realize that I need to take responsibility for my actions. I'm only human. Are you perfect?

You obviously did not learn from your mistakes. You only recently got caught on your warrants. You skipped court. I really don't care about the problems you started

I agree with "Citicop." You were already convicted of the assault/battery charges.

What it sounds like is you paid the restitution for the stolen gas! You got "time served," and the station owner declined to pursue the matter any further therefore the judge dismissed the case.

If you were already convicted of the assault and put on probation, then the charges can NOT "be dismissed" later.

You still have the record for the assault if you were indeed on probation.

You had a good lawyer and a kindly judge. And some luck, I suspect. I hope you did learn your lesson, because next time you may suffer more consequences because you didn't.
