Hi after 9 years with the same woman i have just found myself single. My question is what do women want from a man. these days i am 33 years old people say im a "nice man" the trouble is i dont know if thats what woman want these days. ive been told im a gentleman but i dont know if thats enough. ithink women these days want a bad boy or a jack the lad.

I disagree with the first person. I found myself divorced after 20 years and when I began dating again, I was attracted to men who were secure with themselves, but not arrogant, knew how to have fun, but were not the "bad boy" type, and who were nice, respectful and treated me with thoughtfulness and consideration. In fact, I married such a guy.
Most women I know, including those younger than me, like a guy who is secure with himself, is fun and/or has a good sense of humor, can carry on an intelligent conversation and treats her with respect. Looks and material things are not so important to a woman as are self-confidence and the way a man treats a woman.

Oh my goodness, Gentlemen are almost obsolete nowadays, and most of them are already taken. The fact is your are a rare and precious commodity! Most women really do want a gentleman, trust me, they're just hard to find now days. Don't try to change your self by being "egotistical" or "nasty" to try and fit the "Bad Boy" profile, it would really be a waste. Just be yourself, and when you least expect it, you will find the right person. Have faith!

- Caring and empathetic
- Funny and fun loving. Someone who loves life.
- A gentleman, polite, respectful of others
- Clean
- Smart, interested in the world around him.
- Hard working.

See, we may be attracted to the proverbial 'bad boy' - but he'll most likely treat us badly and break our hearts.
Gentlemen are rare nowadays, and the majority of them are already taken, so you, my dear, are a commodity! Most women want a gentleman in their lives, trust me. A man who respects you and treats you right is a keeper - please don't try being 'nasty' or altering yourself to the ideal you think women look for, it would be a waste of a good man.
