I paid for a procedure with my credit card and was refunded because they had overcharged. I've logged on to my online account and see that additional credit has been given to me. However, I am wondering in what form do I get the money back? Am I suppose to wait for a check to come in the mail, call them or what?

Your credit card company will use any refunded money towards your current balance if any. For example if your current credit card balance was 1000 dollars, and say your credit card is refunded for an over charge of 800 dollars, your new credit card balance would be 200 dollars. However if your current balance is Zero or say your balance was 100 dollars and you recieve a refund credit of 800 dollars you would get a 700 dollars if you had a 100 dollar balance of 800 dollars if you had a Zero balance. You should recieve a check in the mail from your credit card company with 4-6 weeks advrage, otherwise I would contact them.

Most credit card companies wi;ll issue any refund in the form of a credit on your account. If you want the money you have to call them and let them know you want it.

You can request the credit card company issue you a check for the credit balance or you can charge on the card and use up the credit balance.

That credit will apply against your current charges. If it is bigger than all the charges, you will have a credit balance, which the card issuer will carry forward against future charges unless you contact them and request a check. At that point you will have to wait for the snail, but you have to get it started with the request.

It's a credit back on your card. Depending on the 2 banks involved it can take up to a week after they initiate it.

You'll get it back on your card. It might be on your next bill statement and show that you owe less because they got rid of the charge. It may take a few days for the refund to show up on your account.

You won't get a check, it's credited to the card itself. They take the charges off of the account itself.
