If you are going to swim in the pool you should wet your hair before going in. Your hair is like a sponge, it can only hold so much water so once it's wet with just regular water it will not absorb the chlorine. Also be sure to wash you hair when your done swimming. There are shampoos made to help remove chlorine. Good Luck and enjoy your trip.

Don't worry about it. It takes much longer than just a week of swimming in chlorinated water to turn your hair green. You're fine - just enjoy Hawaii.
You're in freakin' Hawaii! You can swim in a pool in Iowa. Go to the beach!
Also, there is special shampoo just for this purpose. Swimmers use it, or just people with a home swimming pool.

It is not the chlorine that turns the hair green it is the pipes. I asked a swimming pool maintenance man.
ION has a few products for swimmers. Seen them at Sally's Beauty Supply.

Go and buy a clarifying shampoo. It removes all the chlorine and chemicals that are building up on your hair and damaging it. But make sure to use a deep conditioner as well. the solve by use the manipulator by bed head. A Clarifing shampoo is the best way to keep your hair from turning greeen not lemon juice or tomato juice.

I have a really easy solution for you. This really works, my mom has naturally really blond hair.
****Wet your hair before you get into the pool****
This helps by soaking up water without chlorine and keeps your hair from soaking up the pool water. Every once in a while you should do one of the following treatments above because even tap water has chlorine.
Hope this helpsâ¥

I think that was old school stuff, can't think of the brand name HTH chlorine or something. I don't think most places use that stuff anymore. I have blonde hair, have been in numerous pools, and no green hair since back in the 80's :) If you're still worried about it, wear a cap.

Well, using lemon shampoo and conditioner works, as does coating your hair in petroleum jelly. After you have finished in the pool, wash your hair with a blonde-specific shampoo and coat in leave-in cream. Of course the best solution is to avoid chlorine!

there is shampoo you can buy to wash your hair after you go swimming that will keep it from turning green

or if you dont want to buy anything
Wet hair as if shampooing, then grind up about three to four aspirin in warm water and pour over the green hair. Works great, and the green just disappears. Then shampoo as normal. Remember that you may need more than one treatment.

If you're going to Hawaii, don't swim in the pools! Go to the beach! I'm totally not a beach person, but when I was there last summer I spent so much time in the water... It's so nice!
