This is an easy recipe because it lets you 'cheat' a little...

I got this recipe from a friend of mine who's an EXCELLENT cook. It tastes completely fresh, despite having some canned ingredients:

1 large can green chili salsa (Ortega 28oz.)
1 sm can tomato sauce
1 sm can diced green chilies
1 lg avocado diced roughly
1 lg onion diced roughly
1 lg tomato diced rougly
cilantro (1 bunch)
salt & pepper
garlic

optional: 1 chopped jalapeno pepper. Remove the seeds if you want less heat.

Try it. It's awesome. Basically all you have to do is chop a few things and dump some stuff from cans. Super easy, and most people really like it.

I'm from Arizona, so we're picky about salsa here!

1/2 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
Juice from 1 lime
3 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
1 poblano pepper, chopped
1/2 cup red onion, chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro
4-6 Ripe Roma tomatoes, cubed
3/4 cup cubed mango

Combine ingredients in order as listed above. Cover and chill in refrigerator for 3-4 hours.

The mango makes this salsa taste great. I prefer this on blue corn chips.

Chile, Tomatoes, Onion, and a little bit of salt would be your base. Add Cilantro, and Lime juice for a Mexican flavor. Add dice jicama for a different flavor or dice mango or dice peach for a fruti flavor.
