i would just say thank you and no, i wouldnt tell them i am pagan, all the faiths are so similar but they fight about such petty things. so to avoid the fight with petty people, id just say i love you too, have a nice day, but i am busy now and dont want to be disturbed any longer. they mean well they realy do but its the evil in them thats so petty.....im pretty eclectic but i consider myself pagan, my hubby is cathloc.....and we get along great.

For the most part I lie and say I don't own/rent the premises and my parents aren't available. Eventually I'll start looking too old for this to work, but for now it's my method.

I have a similar phone manner, and always say "I couldn't say, they keep odd hours" when asked when they can talk to the owners of the premises.

If that doesn't work I simply smile condescendingly and shut the door. It can help as well to develop a evil stare, the one that says "Silence! I've been humouring you so far, but now you're trying my patience", it also works brilliantly when the political parties start doing their rounds. Just generally being antisocial works, and they tend to not come back.

I check my peep hole and don't answer most of the time. I might answer the door and say thank you for your time, but we're not interested. Or I already have a set of beliefs, thanks. And then close the door. They're not gonna put their foot in the door to stop you, and if they do...close the door a little harder to discourage him from trying it in the future.

I honestly tell them that I go to the Catholic Church around the corner and I invite them to come and see the Holy Spirit at work.

For some reason, they never come.

With love in Christ.

Usually telling them that I'm gay and a Quaker works, but if it doesn't, I start asking them questions about their faith and 9 times out of 10 they can't answer me. They usually have a few pat scriptures memorized that they're ready to throw at you, but when I throw a contradicting scripture back at them, they get mighty flustered. Most don't come back. :)

I would say: "Again, thank you very much for bringing your message of love and tolerance through Christ. Have a nice day."

Then shut the door and go back to normal life.

They have NO RIGHT to tell you you will burn in hell. Just pity the person who said this, they must be sad.

Would you like to have a bottle of cold water on a hot day?

I commend you on your efforts for sharing the good news in our community.

May I have prayer with you today. I also
would like to share a piece of my literature with you.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

I used to have discussions with them, but recently they have been getting verbally abusive, so I pull out my Cricket Bat and ask them kindly to leave.

Slam the door in their face & since I live in TX I can shoot them for trespassing if they don't leave. TG my apts now don't allow that crap or any BS soliciting of any kind.
