i just asked a question pertaining to application of evolution in medicine. i was hit with a few responses that said evolution had nothing to do with medicine to which i posted the following article that explained how the theory of evolution has aided scientists in developing treatments for many diseases.

i'm curious, did any of you doubting thomases out there bother to read it, or are you still convinced evolution is a lie, and that it plays no role in medicine?

I read four or five pages of the link you gave. It seems that the author just loves the word "evolution". Twenty, thirty years ago scientists would have called it mutation and adaptation, now it seems evolution is the buzz word.
The whole article talked about the adaptability of germs, specifically viruses.
In my understanding of the word evolution, it should mean progressing from a lower life form to a higher life form. This does not seem to be the case in these articles. It basically talks about adaptation, to fight off the enemies called antibiotics. Antibiotics are also germs, fighting other germs... good guys versus bad guys.
What about the production of antibodies in the human body in response to immunization? Is that evolution or adaptation?

It seems to me that the whole evolution debate is really trying to convince people that there is no God, and therefore we are not accountable to Him. To me evolution is just a smoke screen to avoid being confronted with the reality of the One who made us.

i never saw your original post but i agree with you one hundred percent. Now the real question is dont people see evolution in the advancement of human technology, or fo people think this **** just grows on trees(which would be a form of evolution!)

Scary really. Facts don't matter, only what some men claimed to be true thousands of years ago. Too bad the egyptians were brewing beer at least one thousand years before the fundies believe the world was formed.

Absolutely, but I substitute "adaptation" for "evolution....."
Primoa - there is nothing "evil" in God's perfect plan to sustain all life by allowing it to adapt to changing conditions.

Oh, you meant micro evolution. Sure, I can see how that has benefited medicine.

When it comes to evolution, believe me, christians are not very good about doing their homework.

I really can't address the question, since I believe the same as you do, but I wanted to say thanks for the interesting article. It's a shame if some people are afraid to read it because they're afraid it'll shake their faith.

I don't have to read it to know that evolution is a lie of the devil.

Evolution (or evil-lution) is man's excuse to deny the Creator
