Maybe a small side salad with a light or oriental dressing or if you want fast and simple, some egg rolls/spring rolls/crab rangoon that you can get in the freezer aisle of your local store.

Well, rice certainly is the side dish of choice for that particular recipe.
You could possibly incorporate a shrimp fried rice or pork fried rice to go with it in order dismantle the ordainary.
Or you could make rice noodles or egg noodles (Lo Mein) to compliment the meal. Either are both part of Asian cuisine and fairly inexpensive if you have to run out to the store.
You could also make an Asian Slaw (out of cabbage).
HAPPY COOKING, and I'm sorry I couldn't be of any more help!

Cous Cous mix
Pinch of saffron
Raisins
Cooked vegetables
Cook Cous Cous as directed on package (about 5 minutes). Add saffron and raisins. For variety, mix small carrots and celery with the cous cous. Peas and lentils are good too. Serve on a large round plate. Arrange cous cous mixture on the outer edge of the plate and pile the vegetables in the middle. Use "color" and be creative.

Really doesn't need a side but you could top with noodle crunches or fried egg roll skins for a textural difference or you could serve over wide noodles (rice, egg, wheat, etc) for a different presentation. Good Luck!
