The bible clearly states that he was born of a Jewish woman, Mary. Of course the father was the holyghost. I have yet to see where the bible states that Jesus was of "African Descent". So on that note, then Mary had to have come straight out of Africa. Doesnt matter what the so called "scholars" state the only thing that counts is what the Word of God states..and again no where do I read that Jesus came from Africa. Now, he could have been darker skinned then we are, but that does not make Him "African" it makes Him Jewish.

Come on. Get real! Have you even READ the Bible? It's amazing how much light the Bible sheds on all them commentaries!
Do you even know where Israel is? Or do you think that Jerusalem is in Africa? How do you come up with African American when there was no such thing as America? According to YOUR view of history and geography, the north pole is probably near the equator, and Egypt is in the middle of the Atlantic ocean!
Can you humble yourself enough to admit you are wrong? Or will you continue in your ignorance?

Jesus, was of African American descent? Only two thousand years prior to African Americans, existing, Lol.
Since the part of the world he was born, lived and died in, is indeed in Northern Africa, u could consider him African.
However, if you are inferring that Jesus, the Jewish man, and he is indeed Jewish -that's kinda the point u know, him being Jewish, was black, it is very doubtful. Historically, men from his area were white, though dark complected, with brown eyes and straight, black hair. His beard was most likely forked, as was the custom of men in that area.
Other than that, I believe as you do, His message is of the only importance.

How could Jesus be ANY kind of American? America didn't even exist until 1776! Jesus was born in Jerusalem. He probably looked similar to the people who are from that region now. Does that make him white? No. But it doesn't make him black, either. Does it matter? Absolutely not!

Jesus was a Semite (descended from Shem, one of Noah's sons).
Bible scholars agree the King Solomon may have been Black skinned, because of what he stated in Song of Solomon chapter 1.
King Solomon is in Jesus' ancestry, but the Gospels infer that Jesus was so ordinarily Jewish looking that Judas had to betray Him with a kiss to point Him out specifically to the Roman soldiers.

Agreed. I don't know too many people that are bothered by this... but if it bothers someone, I suggest they focus on the message, not the messenger.
And I don't know if "African American" would be the right classification, since there was no America then... but I agree he was of a race that would be dark skinned, if that's what you mean!
-EDIT-
I find it interesting that most people are saying that it wouldn't matter, but it couldn't POSSIBLY be true. Why the anger if it doesn't matter? Make up your mind.

Seeing as how there was no America you have shown yourself to be a troll, worthy of everyone's attention here for giving R&S a bad rap.
Jesus was semetic. He could look anywhere from the likes of David Hasselhoff or Omar Shariff (both are Semetics) to Anwar Sadat.

Biblical scholars know there were no African Americans in Jesus' time. Africans didn't reach the North American continent until white slave traders brought them there on sailing ships, clutching copies of the New Testament.
You're a fool.
