I have not read much on Vick. But this I know. True salvation requires "death of the old man" and "resurrection of the new man" which is what baptism is a symbol of. That is why Jesus called it "being born-again". If there are churches that will not allow him in, they do not understand salvation and are just a social gathering building--not a church. In fact, ask the pastor of that church the meaning of 2 Corinthians 5:17...
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Then ask what Jesus meant by this illustration in Luke 7:41-42...
“There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”
As for why many find Jesus after being arrested, read Chuck Colson's book "Born Again". For the most part, it quickens you to the fact that you are not getting away with ANYTHING.

I was there in person yesterday morning, as well as the previous time he walked into the courthouse. (My office is four blocks from the Court House.)
The first time his body language was arrogant and prideful. The crowd was insanely loud with boos.
Yesterday, his body language was significantly different. He seemed much more "normal" and less prideful.
The vibe from the crowds and the entire atmosphere was different Yesterday.
I don't know if he's sincerely found Jesus.
But often times, we have to hit bottom to see that Jesus is the only way back up.
Pride {goes} before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling. Proverbs 16:18
(And I'm curious . . . you're critical of two people who wouldn't welcome him to their churches, and you say they aren't very forgiving. I'm assuming you've forgiven Vick, right? Or are you in agreement with the two church-goers, AND being critical for them being as unforgiving as you are. A curious philosophical position.)
Mike Vick is welcome in my church, and after talking with him, as the pastor I'd be willing to baptize him.
Godspeed.

i think of Michael Vick did what he ought to to say sorry for what he did. He did looked honest and he did not examine a arranged fact (i.e. Ryan Leaf), or examine a fact from his legal professionals. He looked honest in his apology.

You know, I am not sure that even Jesus can forgive a millionaire who burned dogs alive, hung them from trees and drowned them. Some sins are too heavy to forgive. And now we see Vick in "repentance" Do you really believe him, or do you think he just wants him millions back? Only Christ and the Father truly know, but I have my suspicions.

because they have no one else to turn to and they know that Jesus will not reject them. If a church or christian said that then that is not very Godly. Christians get a bad rap because of people like that. Its called a stumbling block. : D

Another example of how religion is treated with exaggerated respect by the legal system. This is how people get paroled too.

It does sound rather convenient of him no?
Look, Who am I to judge? If he truly is repentant than good for him! I truly hope that he is..

He'd be more than welcome in my church, sincere or not. Stressful situations do cause soul searching, but really only God knows what's going on in his heart.
